Job Title:        Senior Buyer Planner           

Location:        Conyers, GA             

 

What we’re looking for:

 

We are looking for a Senior Buyer Planner to be responsible for the procurement of multiple components, subassemblies, raw materials, finished goods, production equipment, and supplies from approved suppliers within assigned commodity areas. 

The Senior Buyer Planner will be responsible for optimizing the procurement and sourcing supply chain, following up of key KPIs and metrics and developing standard work and training others as required.

 

What you’ll be responsible for in this role:

 

  • Manage relationships with key suppliers of raw materials, sub-assemblies, production equipment, and supplies to ensure a consistent supply of materials to meet operating requirements.
  • Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets and to KPI’s.
  • Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate with any supply problems which may pose a risk of impact on business operations.
  • Responsible for maintaining current trade compliance data for applicable goods.
  • Work closely with the Production and Scheduling teams to ensure that all required items are ordered in a timely manner at the most economic quantity and lowest cost in order to meet production requirements while simultaneously minimizing inventory exposure at the factory and in the supply chain.
  • Manage inventory for the components assigned for both the internal plants as well as third party vendors.
  • Arrange for vendors to drop-ship parts as needed.
  • Work closely with other departments within the organization (e.g., Engineering, Quality, Production, NPI, Lab, Warehouse, Accounting, Finance etc.)
  • Implement supplier partnership models.
  • Participate in Project teams involving materials procurement (direct, indirect and maintenance departments).

 

What are the basic qualifications? 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree Technical/ Business/ Supply chain or equivalent experience.
  • 8 years' work experience or combination development programs and experience
  • 5+ years of supplier development - managing orders/contracts, sourcing and negotiation of products/services.

 

What are the preferred qualifications?

 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Delivered strong results in supplier scorecards, inventory optimization and advanced supplier integration strategies such as VMIC, LTS negotiation, LT reduction, MOQ reductions and Supplier Pull Strategies.
  • Strong Experience in Lean Tools and Certification.
  • Experience and certification in Change management is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and data management.
  • Strong background in negotiations aimed at reduction of overall cost.
  • Strong project management experience.
  • Experience in contract and vendor relations management.
  • CPIM/CSCP APICS certification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization (hourly workforce, first line supervision, senior management, internal stakeholders, supply base and peers.
  • Demonstrated collaboration qualities.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, agreements, and procedure manuals as well as speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization.
  • Experience leading and facilitating a cross-functional team through influence and expertise.
  • Material Requirements Planning experience - understand the flow of materials from MRP, MES and managing inventory systems.
  • Ability to multi- task, prioritize workload and manage under constrained time frames.
  • High energy and self-motivated, with the ability to work in a cross-functional matrix organization and external suppliers in geographically diverse locations.
  • Demonstrated ERP proficiency, with a focus in process optimization.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional matrix organization and external suppliers in geographically diverse locations.
  • Strong quality and customer-centric focus.
  • Excellent computer knowledge/proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

 

 

To be a great fit for the role:

 

  • Prior experience purchasing and/or sourcing sheet metal.
  • Prior experience in purchasing of components used in Refrigeration Applications.
  • Prior experience in Operations excellence in a procurement environment
  • Visual and Oracle ERP proficiency
  • Advanced SQL knowledge - table/view design, stored procedures
  • Worked closely with a number of other departments within the organization (e.g. Engineering, Quality, Production, Warehouse, Accounting, etc.) and with the suppliers to successfully attain objectives.
  • Participated in Project teams involving materials procurement (e.g. glass, door, and frame departments).
