Job Title:        Senior New Product Development / Design to Value Engineer            

Location:        Conyers, GA             

 

 

What we’re looking for:

 

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join our New Product Development and Design-to-Value (NPD/DTV) team for our Commercial refrigeration systems.

 

What you’ll be responsible for in this role: (list job duties/responsibilities/tasks)

 

  • Responsible for New Product Development (NPD) following the Stage Gate process
    • Concept generation and intellectual property
    • Prototype and pilot builds
    • Engineering CAD models, drawings, and BOMs
    • Design reviews
    • DFMEA and DVP&R
    • Agency compliance
    • Cost of goods sold (COGS)
    • Handoffs and training
  • Responsible for Design-To-Value (DTV) productivity improvements to existing products
    • Brainstorm and scope funnel projects
    • Develop and launch projects to achieve target savings
    • Summarize and report project savings
  • Collaborates with Product Management, Sourcing, Quality, Manufacturing, and other members of the project teams

 

What are the basic qualifications?

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 7+ years of design engineering experience
  • 3+ years of refrigeration industry experience

 

What are the preferred qualifications?

 

  • Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering

 

To be a great fit for the role:

 

  • Demonstrated expertise in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and structural mechanics
  • Experience with Stage Gate, DFM, VA/VE, Lean, Six Sigma, other best-practice processes
  • Ability to lead projects
  • Experience with environmentally sustainable refrigeration systems
