JOB SUMMARY:

The primary responsibilities of the Buyer/Planner II will be the management of all suppliers including Consignment Supply Chain Programs.  Participation on NPI (new product introduction) team and managing new product roll-out to insure optimum efficiencies and successful execution from supplier to customer. The Buyer/Planner II will also ensure that OK International is utilizing / leveraging Dover Alliance Supply base when applicable. Management and vigilance over all Supply Agreements and Vendor Performance (Supply Scorecards).  Management and follow through on all Supply Chain productivity initiatives as required. 

HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW OF JOB DUTIES:

  • Management of the NPI Programs:
    • PDP Participation & Utilization of Microsoft Project.
    • Provide Weekly Status Recap to Project Management.
    • Participation in NPI weekly reviews and provide status.
    • Source and manage prototype requests as required.
    • Design to Cost / Bill of Materials.
    • Management of NPI budget costs and utilization of project GL accounts.
    • Periodic Review Program reviews with each supplier.
    • Provide Supply Chain Inputs and Gate reviews as required per PDP.
  • Supplier Score Card & Vendor Performance Administrator:
    • Creation and dissemination of Supplier Score Cards.
    • New Vendor Qualification.
    • Supplier Development / Get Well – Transition Program Management.
    • Supplier Rationalization.
    • Leverage spend through utilization of Dover Corporate Alliance Suppliers.
    • Monthly “Supplier Linkage” with top ten suppliers by spend.
  • Sourcing/buying right products as required.
  • Continuously monitor market demand and supply to exercise actions and protection of the organization.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best price for our materials.
  • Produce department reports and communicate any delays or changes.
  • Place purchase orders.
  • Estimate future buying needs.
  • Responsible for monitoring and evaluating raw materials, purchasing timelines, manpower planning, and ongoing communication with all parties involved.
  • Responsible for performing duties of Buyer/Planner I as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS REQUIRED:
•    Must be familiar with engineering drawings and specifications. 
•    5 yrs. experience required in a purchasing function.
•    Effective supplier relations and analytical skills.
•    PC Software and spreadsheet skills for analysis.
•    Must have experience with basic ERP systems in a manufacturing environment with multilevel Bills of Material. 
•    Working knowledge of MRP/JIT/Kanban and Consignment inventories.
•    Exposure to Lean manufacturing a plus.Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
•    Self-starter, results-oriented with good organizational and project management skills.
•    Ability to establish work priorities and effectively manage a wide variety of projects.
•    Knowledge of contract writing, supply agreements, procurement policies and procedures.
•    Tactical Team resource and support as required. 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

•    BS Degree in Business, Engineering or related field. Supply Chain major/coursework preferred.  

 

 

Work Arrangement : Onsite

Pay Range: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 annually

Bonus Eligible: This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
