The Global Director of HR is responsible for the full HR function worldwide (US, Europe and Asia).  Responsible for working with the VP GM to drive the HR strategy of OKI.  Partners with other leadership team members to ensure we attract and retain top talent for the organization.  Partners with the business locally and internationally on all HR aspects of managing human capital, such as talent acquisition, positive employee relations initiatives and programs, building training and development and help on a strategic level to drive the overall organizational development needs.  Ensure full alignment at enterprise level to drive all Segment and Corporate-wide HR initiatives as needed.

 

Job Duties:

 

  • HR Strategic Business Partnership
    • Strong partner with the VP GM and leadership team to deliver HR business strategy and goals
    • Manage the global HR team to ensure day to day HR matters related to production and non-production employees are dealt with professionally and in compliance with processes & procedures
    • Help lead organization through critical change during current pandemic, leverage strong EHS experience
    • Foster a culture of open communication and positive employee relations
    • Build trust and handle confidential matters with high integrity
    • Handle critical situations and assess risk and develop solutions
    • Provide guidance and coaching to Leadership team, Senior Managers & supervisors on day to day employee issues
    • HR policy development, interpretation and updates as needed on a global and country specific level
    • Ensure Dover and local compliance training programs (i.e. Integrity Counts) are delivered and monitor accordingly
    • Provide HR guidance and answer policy related questions and escalations as required
    • Compensation committee member, ensure annual merit increase process is robust and calibrated
    • Top-grading and managing Terminations
  • Talent Acquisition & Development
    • Deliver talent strategy and provide big picture in attracting high caliber talent
    • Manage overall talent acquisition and is responsible to ensure robust processes are in place
    • Review applicant traffic to ensure talent strategy is delivering the desired outcome
    • Work with hiring managers to ensure full understanding of the role and job description being sourced
    • Guide and coach managers on effective behavioral interview techniques
    • Coordinate with other Dover Operating Companies to access the overall Dover family for key / critical strategic or developmental roles
    • Drive Talent development and succession planning strategy and building bench strength in key functions globally
    • Develop and deliver training programs as needed for various employee groups
    • Ensure training documentation and process is reviewed with a focus on continuous improvement
    • Be aligned with all relevant Dover wide initiatives related to employee relations and employee engagement such as surveys and audits
  • Employee Relations
    • Communicate with Dover legal department on high-risk situations
    • Guide and coach Leadership, management and supervisors on day to day employee relation matters
    • Keep utmost confidentiality when dealing with employee relation issues
    • Foster positive employee relations and HR practices
    • Address Dover Hotline items efficiently and timely and continue to build employee trust in the open door process

 

  • HR Department & Team
    • Build and continuously develop internal HR department with talented HR professionals who are dedicated to delivering strong HR services to the organization globally
    • Coach and mentor HR team as needed
    • Ensure team is working towards continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall employee experience
    • Manage the day to day administration activities related to new hires, terminations, transfers or changes related to the employee population
    • Manage global payroll and benefit related functions in US, UK and Asia (HR Central payroll processing, benefit processing, pension & 401K, annual salary review process, etc.)
    • Manage activities related to annual performance review for all employees – including training supervisors on best practices in conducting performance reviews
    • Manage various HR programs such as New hire orientation and onboarding, review and enhance the existing program
    • Ensuring all local state and federal training is conducted and monitored
    • Confirm departmental documented processes are developed and updated periodically
    • Monitor and update handbook as needed by legal changes

 

Work Experience Required:

 

  • 15+ years directly related HR Generalist experience or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • 3+ years in a senior HR leadership role preferably from manufacturing industry

  • Strong knowledge of California employment law, CA department of fair employment and housing, FMLA, wage and labor
  • Ability to deliver training sessions and communicate effectively to various audiences
  • Functions well in a fast paced, innovative environment
  • Experience with handling sensitive and confidential material
  • Demonstrated ability to partner and collaboratively drive HR programs and initiatives
  • Well rounded experience and knowledge of the full HR function
  • Understanding of compliance requirements and audit controls
  • SAP Success Factors or similar ERP experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experienced with overseeing international HR teams

 

 

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • Graduate degree in Human Resources or MBA is a plus
  • Professional HR designation such as SHRM-CP or SPHR
