JOB SUMMARY:

Ownership & Key Attributes:

  • Hands-on, working manager of global supply chain team
  • Responsible for development of the global supply chain team

  • Develop supply chain process and procedures. Establish Cypress as the COE
  • Development and implementation of strategic lead-time solutions
  • Ownership of global ITO (stock and consignment inventory) performance and continuous improvement.
  • Ownership of past due and OTD risk mitigation and daily performance to exceed corporate KPI goals
  • Develop and maintain global supplier score card
  • Develop internal partnerships and collaboration
  • Ownership of cost savings/productivity material planning and realization
  • Ownership and development of strategic supply chain initiatives
  • Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement, kaizen and process mapping

 

JOB DUTIES

Scope of Overall Department Responsibilities:

  • Management of supply global chain team
  • Supplier selection, sourcing, and performance measurement
  • Supplier quality improvement and development
  • Purchase part cost savings, planning and reporting
  • Tracking and reporting department & company metrics
  • NPI management – Purchasing & inventory strategy. Develop metrics of short run proto-type suppliers and long- term production suppliers.
  • Solutions provider and mentor
  • Contract/Supply agreement negotiation
  • Corporate purchasing compliance
  • Facilitate Business Systems Improvements
  • Purchasing policy, procedures and guidelines
  • Purchase order review and approval
  • Leverage and integrate consignment, Kan Ban, and flow manufacturing principles into OKI business operations to achieve inventory turns goals, improved cost, efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Undertake risk mitigation analysis and recommendations relating to material cost and supply chain profiles for optimization purposes. 
  • Work with Manufacturing and supply chain teams to implement enhanced processes.
  • Drive sourcing activities within the US, China and Mexico
  • Drive product cost improvements and quality improvement
  • RFQ program; preferred supplier program; supplier performance evaluations; feedback; and supplier certifications.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to support their purchasing requirements for new design and improvement projects where a new process and or established source does not exist.
  • Participate in and support continuous improvement activities.
  • Analyze market and industry conditions in support of strategic supply chain objectives
  • Generate and implement efficient sourcing and category management strategies.  In support of that, develop plans, drive activities, and manage projects to meet organizational goals.
  • Analyze and calculate costs of procurement and suggest methods to enhance the total cost of ownership in support of productivity goals. Lead total cost reduction activities to ensure the lowest possible total cost, including product cost, transportation cost, inventory cost, and cost of quality.
  • Responsible for negotiations for best possible cost service guarantee and develop “win-win” strategies that achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models.
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
  • Establish supplier selection criteria, evaluate alternative suppliers, manage the request for information/request for quotation (RFI/RFQ) process, and drive final supplier selection in partnership with key stakeholders and in alignment with Dover Global Sourcing strategies (where applicable, e.g., globally sourced categories).
  • Cooperate with stakeholders to include their requirements and criteria in strategies and negotiations.
  • Negotiate key agreements with suppliers to establish best-in-class pricing, flexibility, quality, delivery, payment, warranty, and service terms.
  • Implement supplier agreements/contracts through development of transition plans and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base issues to minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and use emerging opportunities.  Estimate risks and apply risk minimizing techniques.  Formulate contingency plans to de-risk technical challenges, long lead time, single/sole source, and any supply issues.
  • Maintain and develop supplier relationships, e.g., regular business review meetings, site visits, etc.…  Coordinate the supplier management program with key suppliers including metrics, performance goals and improvement initiatives
  • Support Global Sourcing Specialist to drive early supplier involvement initiatives to ensure key suppliers are proactively providing input into new product designs and future product roadmaps.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to resolve any chronic part shortage or quality problems which are affecting production schedules.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 5-10 years minimum experience in a global supply chain leadership role

 

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Good interpersonal, project management and presentation skills with the ability to clearly present recommendations and ideas and to summarize complex issues
  • An action bias for driving consensus in cross-functional teams to meet organization goals
  • Leadership with the ability to communicate with and to influence all levels of management
  • Broad knowledge of and able to discuss the manufacturing processes for injection molding, sheet metal, PCBA assembly, electro-mechanicals and electronic assembly and test, etc.…
  • Ability to manage projects and establish clear goals and accountabilities to ensure successful delivery (on time, within budget, meeting agreed upon success criteria)
  • Knowledge of the legal terminology and language related to supplier agreements and contracts
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP systems skills and working knowledge of MS Office, with advanced Excel® knowledge.

 

Preferred

  • Background in supplier evaluation/selection, cost models, contract negotiation and supply base management.
  • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management and relevant software, e.g., BravoSolution®
  • Understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgement
  • Ability to sustain networking relationships
  • Comfortable with figures and in collecting, analyzing and interpreting data
  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)

  • BS or MS in relevant field
