Job Summary

The Material Handler will be responsible for accurately and safely loading and unloading of materials while maintaining the flow of materials to the organizations to ensure that all aspects of the company are being met. 

Job Duties
  • Materials handler(s) perform transactions in the ERP system for the following types of transactions:  Consignment inventory, location to location moves, & inventory adjustments.
  • Assists in the cycle counting process as requested.
  • Operates hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks or within the facility.
  • Responsible for the ongoing inventory accuracy of the facility.
  • Notifies one of the following:  Inventory Control, Shipping Lead & Distribution Manager when material control issues are discovered.
  • Works with Inventory Control & Lead(s) during investigations of quality issues, inventory issues, shipping complaints and process improvements.
  • Works as part of the Distribution team to ensure all requested material transfers are completed accurately in a timely manner.
  • Transfers, transports and stages materials in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintains warehouse documentation and other related records.
  • Participates in the continuous improvement of the distribution department.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

Education & Work Experience Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Requires 1 – 2 yrs. experience.
  • Fast paced, high volume environment. 

 

Skills Required
  • Customer Service oriented.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Fast paced, high volume environment. 
  • Experience on an ERP system required.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Experience with MS Office and basic math skills.
  • Detail oriented and organized to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis; up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
