Job Summary:

Complete electro-mechanical assembly and packaging of pumps, bridges, dryers, electrical components and related equipment in an accurate and timely manner.

 

REQUIRED Responsibilities:

  • Assemble assigned products per blue print, work instruction, or Team Leader’s instruction.
  • Package and crate equipment for shipment utilizing controlled check sheets, order status reports, etc.
  • Forklift and/or aisle stacker use to transport/relocate inventory or product.
  • Follow all safety and PPE requirements per established company policies.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools, including pneumatic nail guns.
  • Demonstrated understanding of all established Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Utilize and maintain established inventory replenishment systems such as kan-ban, VMI, or CMI.
  • Communicate and coordinate part shortages with Team Leaders, Production Supervisors, or Purchasing Department.
  • Assist Supervisor and/or Team Leader in maintaining inventory accuracy and with maintaining 5-S program.
  • Maintain a neat and clean work area.
  • Focus on continuous improvements within the Company.

 

 

ADVANCED Responsibilities:

  • A demonstrated command of all required responsibilities, including the ability to effectively flex between multiple assembly cells and assignments. 
  • Create and implement improved operational processes to reduce cost, improve quality, and increase through-put using strong problem-solving skills.
  • Train new employees by developing and utilizing sound interpersonal skills.
  • Assist Team Leads or Supervisor in organizing, planning, and communicating production-related tasks among fellow employees.  Lead by example.
  • Assist the engineering team in both product development and improvement projects by developing and applying an acquired technical skill set.
  • Load PDQ equipment orders onto trucks, including shipping containers.  Document per procedure.  Complete all necessary paperwork. (check sheets, etc).
  • Balance blower wheels per specification.
  • Cycle Counting and inventory control assignments.
  • Perform accurate and timely Job, Receiving, and Inventory-control transactions using Oracle system.
  • Facilitate specific VMI or CMI assignments.
  • Use of Microsoft office products such as Word or Excel as assigned.
  • Ability to load software onto associated products (i.e. flash cards, printed circuit boards, etc.)
  • Ability to coordinate and oversee full machinery setup including mounting systems.

 

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • Not applicable.

 

Education Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Applicable technical school training or demonstrated experience is preferred for advanced assignments.

 

Experience Requirements:

  • Blueprint reading skills are preferred.
  • Must possess strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Previous experience using hand and power tools is preferred.
  • Basic assembly skills and prior assembly experience is preferred.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.
  • Prior experience using Oracle is preferred.
  • Prior hands-on experience with electrical components is preferred.
  • Completion of basic electricity course is preferred.
  • Must possess the ability to accurately interpret point-to-point wiring schematics.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

 

Quality Responsibilities:

  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system.
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to normal office conditions like telephone, personal computer, reports and files.  The employee will also be exposed to normal conditions of a manufacturing facility.   The employee will be regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee will be required to stand for long periods of time.  The employee will use his/her hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and climb or balance and reach with hands and arms.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  The employee will frequently lift, carry or otherwise move and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 70 pounds.  When working on machinery, employee will bend, stoop and crouch on a regular basis and constantly move about to coordinate work.  The employee is required to regularly set up, adjust, assemble, control, test and operate machinery.
