Position Summary

The Manager of Financial Transformation is a newly created position dedicated to the creation and execution of Dover’s financial transformation initiative. Reporting to Senior Director of Corporate Finance, Dover Corp., this position will be responsible for executing workstreams to simplify and modernize Dover’s finance and accounting functions, with a focus on process design, data governance, and technology. More specifically, Dover is evaluating its close, consolidation, reporting, and analytics processes to reduce complexity while providing more complete, timely, and insightful data to senior leadership. This individual will act as a strategic partner to finance and accounting leadership while managing the transformation roadmap to ensure Dover achieves its desired future state on-time and on budget.

 

Specific Responsibilities

  • Unleash business value through standardization and automation of corporate finance and accounting processes across a diverse set of 17 operating companies by understanding what information Dover collects, how it is collected, and how it is used to meet corporate needs
  • Develop  5-year roadmap to execute successful long-term transformation strategy, monitor change, and report on quantifiable project benefits to executive leadership focused on time savings and analytical enhancements
  • Manage relationships between Dover and 3rd party technology and implementation partners to support overall finance transformation objectives and timelines
  • Evaluate current and future finance tools to understand value proposition
  • Apply strong analytical skills to quickly absorb, assess data, and identify opportunity areas to support project value leveraging internal and external benchmarks
  • Lead cross-functional teams across corporate and operating companies, with particular focus on how finance and accounting transformation aligns with Dover’s shared service model – Dover Business Solutions
  • Act as thought leader in transformation strategy to reinforce and/or pivot Dover’s transformation roadmap over time

 

Background Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of strategy consulting experience in the finance function focused on project management for a large, decentralized organization
  • Strong quantitative skills and analytical thinker with prior experience driving insights using statistics or data analysis
  • Experience and/or knowledge in finance technologies and the outcomes they can achieve across all process areas within finance
  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance or accounting; MBA a bonus
  • Expert-user of Excel and the Microsoft Office suite; experience with PowerBI is beneficial
  • Experience with consolidation software/tools a plus
