Purpose:
•    The person hired into this role will support Dover’s Supply Chain and Sourcing Organizations by providing analytical expertise, support project management activity, and manage select supplier relationships. As the candidate grows in knowledge and experience, the analyst will be asked to assume greater levels of responsibility for leading strategic sourcing and other supply chain / operations improvement projects and will be considered for other opportunities within Dover Corporation. The analyst will work on initiatives across a wide range of Dover’s operating companies, as well as Dover Corporate business needs.

Experience
•    Candidates should have 2-5 years of experience in at least one (and ideally more) of the following areas: Procurement, supply chain, engineering / technical, manufacturing operations, management consulting, logistics, project management. Recent graduates with strong manufacturing supply chain internship experience will also be considered.

Scope Of Responsibilities
•    Quantitative profile development, data analysis and support for strategic sourcing projects (supplier research, master data, market basket analysis, pricing analysis, etc.)
•    Qualitative profile development and analysis (executive summaries, exhibit creation, etc.)
•    Monthly/quarterly reporting of KPIs (savings tracking, price variances, quality, delivery, inventory)
•    Manage and maintain group data (agreements, project
•    results, supplier communication, etc.)
•    Other ad hoc projects and analysis as assigned

 

Principal Accountabilities:
Duties as part of cross-functional, cross-segment/divisional, and/or cross-geographical teams made up of the following people:
•    Sourcing and Supply Chain Project Leaders
•    Commodity Managers
•    Sourcing Analysts
•    Segment/Divisional Procurement, Quality, Technical, and Management personnel
•    Suppliers
•    Selected, specialized individuals key to the projects
•    Periodic interaction with senior management

•    Ability to comprehend procurement and supply chain processes as well as basic knowledge in a vast array of direct and indirect commodities
•    Able to gather quantitative and qualitative information and analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations, and plans of action
•    Problem solving and systemic thinking skills: critical analytics/diagnosis/prioritization skills; anticipating customer needs. Drives for continuous improvement
•    Strong external & global orientation: Looks external to understand the global business context in which we operate
•    Knowledge of MRO products and supplies, Packaging, machining and fabrication OEM equipment, and/or Professional Services categories a plus
•    Extensive MS Office Knowledge – ability to create and manipulate datasets.

 

Work Requirements:
•    Up to 25% travel may be required

Education:
•    Bachelor’s degree and/or Graduate degree in Supply Chain, Business, Science, or Engineering.
•    Experience, training or education in strategic sourcing, supply chain management, data analysis, project management and/or procurement processes
•    Work experience in a manufacturing company a plus
•    Strong proficiency in all MS Office applications; advanced word processing and database skills a plus
