Position Summary:


As Principal Architect Business Applications, you will lead Dover’s businesses in designing, implementing and supporting enterprise ERP solutions, including cloud-Edge down to shop-floor, for on-prem, Cloud and Hybrid solution-sets.  You will be designing and architecting technology and integration solutions to meet the needs of the Dover businesses in a mixed technology environment (legacy, on-prem solutions all the way to cutting-edge Cloud-based service-solutions). You will work with Dover Digital solution leaders, software developers and the ERP Techno-functional Leads to design, develop, implement, and continuously improve the operating landscape.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


This role will work closely with solution experts on our ERP and Digital teams, as well as with key operational leaders across the Dover Operating Companies.  Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Define and execute a sustainable, enterprise approach to ERP technology design and integration architecture with strategic edge applications
  • Identify, design and support businesses in their implementation of standard enterprise processes throughout the ERP implementation lifecycle
  • Develop resilient and adaptable standards that meet common business needs and support necessary change management to assist businesses with their implementation of standard enterprise processes
  • Collaborate with Operating Company, Digital, Business Intelligence, Security, and Infrastructure teams to develop the Enterprise Architecture strategy and join application roadmaps that align to Dover’s strategic vision for ERP and related applications
  • Lead cross-functional teams through complex issues and key decisions to deliver standard, effective solutions aligned with Dover’s technology strategy and business objectives
  • Support the development of a Dover ERP delivery methodology with a heavy focus on process transformation and change management
  • Liaison between Dover IT, supplier-partners, and Operating Company IT owners to resolve conflicts and address operational issues while staying aligned to the Dover technology roadmap
  • Partner with Value Stream Leads and process owners to govern solution standards and minimize exceptions
  • Provide guidance and solution recommendations to Business/Systems Analysts, and Supplier-Partners; Influence through formal and informal networks to achieve desired outcomes
  • Provide input to Project Managers to ensure effective project planning, scoping, resourcing, and execution
  • Develop and implement effective communication and change management procedures to help our Operating Companies navigate transformational programs without negative performance impacts
  • Document, maintain, and evangelize Dover ERPs and integrated application standards to drive low-cost and highly supportable back-office processes
  • Demonstrate commitment to industry leading practices, company policy, integrity, ethics, and legal compliance


Qualifications / Requirements/Desired Characteristics:

  • Minimum of B.S. or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar discipline.  Advanced degree, MS or MBA is preferred
  • 10+ years of IT experience, with 5 years of experience in Systems Architecture (preferably Oracle and SAP)
  • Experience as lead architect on major process transformation and ERP implementation programs
  • Demonstrated experience architecting complex, solutions that span multiple applications and departments
  • Exposure to multiple ERP platforms; hands on experience with Oracle EBS or Fusion Cloud strongly preferred
  • Good understanding of a manufacturing environment and the unique processes and data required to run a factory
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders at a variety of levels and understand expectations, capture business requirements, and translate them into system architecture and process design
  • Experience leading strategic contracting processes with technology focus / implications: RFI, RFP, MSA, Statement of Work; Supplier negotiation and Service Level Management
  • Ability to multi-task, balance competing priorities, and perform in a dynamic, matrixed environment
  • Strong sense of urgency, accountability and highly goal oriented
  • Clear, concise and articulate communication skills - verbal, written and listening
  • Highly organized and efficient in approaching tasks, a self-starter with ability to problem solve proactively
  • Interfaces with wide array of individuals, balances multiple tasks and maintains positive attitude and energy
