In this highly visible, growth opportunity, you will be responsible for promoting and facilitating the implementation of the Dover Operational Excellence Model and the supporting leadership competencies across Dover operating companies through the Sensei Program, which provides training, coaching, systems, resources, and tools to support operational excellence.
 

Success measures for this role will include training hours, successful learning outcomes, certifications, and other operational excellence engagement metrics.


This position requires a minimum of 50% domestic travel and occasional international travel.


What You’ll Do

  • Work effectively with all levels of the organization, from frontline employees to senior leadership to facilitate effective training and coaching initiatives.
  • Confidently navigate a variety of manufacturing environments, global geographies and cultures, and leadership styles and business cultures with the objective of creating a “distinctly Dover” approach to leadership and operational excellence.
  • Understand comprehensive, cross-functional operational excellence standards and engage associates from across all business functions in identifying and closing gaps to those standards.
  • Responsible for the development of training and delivery of both classroom and hand-on training, and on-site coaching and feedback.
  • Improve the systems that support remote delivery of training and monitoring efforts.
  • Lead and facilitate improvement initiatives in both manufacturing process and transactional environments with emphasis on simplification and creating process flow.
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert in many of the 0DOVER Operational Excellence standards, particularly the foundational people and process standards.
  • Dig into business and process performance data and help teams identify key metrics and KPIs that are leading indicators of operational excellence. 
  • Accountable for special projects and associated processes leading to operations and supply chain process improvements and optimization when needed with an associated expectation to grow operating company talent and capability.

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive leadership experience including Operations Leadership and Operational Excellence roles with some experience managing multi-site responsibilities.
  • A “people-first” passion to helping others learn to drive change and achieve outstanding results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to facilitate training, implementation workshops, and one-to-one coaching.
  • A drive and passion for innovation and creation of content, tools, delivery methods, etc. that leverage software tools and online/on-demand capabilities to increase scope and reach.
  • Exceptional training, assessment and coaching and influencing skills to successfully deploy the 0DOVER Operational Excellence Model and support sites in implementing (from start to sustainment) effective improvement action plans and strategies for personal and business excellence.
  • Significant experience leading transformational process improvements with demonstrated results in safety, delivery, quality, inventory, and cost KPIs.
  • Prior training and certification in lean process improvement tools and methodologies.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and experience successfully utilizing various methodologies including A3 thinking, problem statement definition, 5-why analysis, and identification and rapid implementation of countermeasures and sustaining measures.
  • Subject matter expertise in foundational standards of operational excellence.
  • Proficient in MS Office and expertise in MS365 Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint design is strongly desired.
  • A combination of both strong people leadership and technical affinity.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding business reports, especially ERP and Financial Reports.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
