Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the Supply Chain and Materials Management Director, the Supply Chain and Materials Sr. Manager role is to support all activities to drive excellence in the management of materials and the supply chain providing the leadership needed to implement best practices globally.


This individual will collaborate directly with the Materials, Purchasing, Sourcing, Engineering, Customer Service organizations, the executive management team and operating company decision makers to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support strategies and tools to maximize the business performance. Also, a high proficiency in Continuous Improvement and Lean Thinking is required to drive transformational change within a complex manufacturing organization.


A proficient skillset of statistical, mathematical and analytical capabilities is key to create and develop models for inventory optimization and planning/scheduling policies.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Support Dover’s supply chain inventory optimization processes and toolkit development to ensure best-in-class inventory turns
  • Support developing and sustaining an effective S&OP Process with forecasting tools and strategies and aligned supply planning processes
  • Support optimization of materials planning processes and strategies, configuring the optimal policies and parameters (PFEP)
  • Comfortable with replenishing methodologies and able to identify the best fit for different manufacturing environment (ETO, MTO, etc.)
  • Intimate knowledge with ERP/MRP’s & key transaction points to ensure inventory control within a manufacturing environment
  • Support assuring optimal flow and floor space utilization by designing material replenishment systems on warehouses and production areas.
  • Understands the principles of inventory control, inventory accuracy and cycle counting programs
  • Support improving and sustaining the required inventory accuracy.
  • Help shape Supply Chain strategic and operational planning by fostering best practices, sharing data upstream and downstream, taking all opportunities for pull systems and lead time reductions.
  • Support defining effective scheduling processes and strategies able to provide high flexibility and responsiveness to a dynamic environment
  • Support developing and implementing effective capacity management tools and processes.
  • Support implementing tools to effectively prioritize expediting,
  • Support Op Companies on their implementation journey of the 0Dover System, Dover’s Operating Model.




Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of B.S. or equivalent in Supply Chain or a relevant engineering, scientific or business discipline. 
  • ISM, APICS and/or related certifications
  • 10+ years of working experience in Supply Chain, materials, or procurement, preferably in manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to think big, act small and scale fast
  • Strong computer skills, very proficient using advanced Excel functionalities and Excel Macros
  • Basic project management expertise
  • Ability to multi-task and perform in a dynamic environment
  • Strong sense of urgency, accountability and highly objective oriented
  • Highly organized and efficient in approaching tasks, a self-starter with ability to problem solve proactively
  • Impeccable organization and efficiency skills; strong attention to detail
  • Clear, concise and articulate communication skills - verbal, written and listening
  • Interfaces with wide array of individuals, balances multiple tasks and maintains positive attitude and energy
  • Strong team player, work ethic and commitment to win right
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time


Desired Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience in management roles
  • Programming skills, MS Access, SQL, FoxPro, Query/Reporting tools
  • Power BI developing skills
