This is a new role in which the successful candidate will work closely with the DFS Global Legal Counsel, Global Compliance Officer and contract team to deliver corporate, transactional and contractual work in a dynamic global company. 

Candidates must have at least three years of experience in drafting and reviewing technology related contracts. 

Job Responsibilities 

Key tasks include:

  • Assisting Global Legal Counsel and regional commercial team in preparing and reviewing contracts. Must be able to draft and perform initial review of commercial and technology related contracts including software license agreements, maintenance and support agreements, professional services agreements, distributor agreements, non-disclosure and other agreements routinely used in international business.
  • Manage due diligence process and reviews for new and periodically-renewing channel partners and vendors in the region, under the guidance of the Global Compliance Officer.
  • Interface between Company and its channel partners, direct customers and vendors on all contractual matters within the Europe, Middle East & Africa.
  • Provide contract administration for assigned proposals and contracts including customer interface, negotiations, preparation, and contract interpretation, contracts with minimal supervision
  • Provide interface liaison with functional organizations and insure proper communication of requirements among Manufacturing, Program Management, Marketing, Engineering, Compliance and Legal teams
  • Review processes to ensure overall efficiency
  • Working directly with attorneys and internal clients during corporate transactions and commercial negotiations, referring to Global Legal Counsel as appropriate.
  • Keeping up to date with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain computerized contract activity log and legal operations tools
  • Respond to general requests of a legal nature as they arise, referring to Legal Counsel as needed.
    Key Skills
  • General knowledge of English commercial and intellectual property law, experience in technology licensing transactions and privacy law.
  • Comfort with working across cultures is essential and a prerequisite for consideration.  Knowledge of foreign languages a plus but not a prerequisite.
  • Proven legal drafting skills, attention for detail, accuracy and professionalism are prerequisite.
  • Must be hands on and quick learner in a fast pace environment, with ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office suite and contract management tools, such as DocuSign and ContractExpress.
  • Strong inter-personal skills, with the ability to develop effective working relationships with staff at all levels.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, organize workload effectively and prioritise to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to use initiative and work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to communicate, negotiate and influence effectively.
  • Ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex issues.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, in any discipline.
  • Candidates must have at least three years of experience in drafting and reviewing technology related contracts.
  • Available to start by June 2019.
