Position Summary: 

 

The Import & Export Specialist is responsible for coordinating international shipments and ensuring accurate and timely import and export documentation. The role works closely with customers, freight forwarders, customs brokers and internal teams to support the smooth movement of goods while ensuring compliance with import/export regulations and company requirements. As part of the Customer Service team, the role plays an important part in delivering an efficient and reliable service to our customers.

 

 

Main duties and responsibilities:

 

·         Arrange and coordinate shipments on behalf of our customers.

·         Consolidate orders to ensure efficient, combined shipping.

·         Create all relevant export documentation, including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Export Declarations, Certificates of Origin, Airway Bills, and Bills of Lading.

·         Maintain regular contact and coordination with customs brokers.

·         Ensure compliance with import and export regulations through operational support, documentation review, and adherence to internal control procedures.

·         Support internal and external audits by verifying documentation accuracy, regulatory alignment, and customs requirements.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in preparing packing lists and commercial invoices
  • Ability to issue all relevant documentation required against letters of credit
  • Experience liaising with freight forwarders for goods ready for dispatch

 

 

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Previous hands-on experience in import/export procedures
  • Strong knowledge of Letters of Credit, inspection certificates, Certificates of Origin, and export licenses
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience working with an ERP system (preferably Oracle)
  • Proven experience handling customs compliance and regulatory documentation
