Manufacturing Engineer - FTC 12 months

 

Position Summary:

Dover is one of the world’s main producers of retail petroleum dispensing equipment and systems. We design, develop and manufacture technically advanced quality products for a niche market.

Due to increasing worldwide business opportunities requiring the introduction of several new products, as well as an increased demand for existing products, the Company is expanding the manufacturing engineering department in the Dundee Manufacturing Centre (DMC), to optimise time to market and maximise the efficient use of equipment and labour.

 

Key Responsibilities:

The development and deployment of the manufacturing process to deliver product through the application of professional Manufacturing Engineering techniques.

 

Demonstrable exposure to and application of the following is preferred; Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement activity, Lean Manufacturing, Health and Safety at Work Requirements, Poke-yoke, 5S. New Product Introduction exposure is desirable.

 

Deployment of new products within the Dundee Manufacturing Centre. Interacting with development engineering to ensure design for manufacturing (DFM) issues are addressed and incorporated in new designs. Contributing to a cross functional team environment with Engineering, Production, Procurement, and Planning to realise improved time to market with new products and to maintain our current production capability.

 

Working with design and sustaining engineers in the support of existing products as well as contributing to the production requirements in the introduction of new products and processes will also be required.

 

Candidate Experience and Qualification:

Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision, you will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills (PC literate). Joining Dover you will be a team player and flexible in approach to work. Candidates may also be required to travel.

 

Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years (current) Manufacturing Engineering experience gained within a manufacturing / production support role, preferably with a mix of assembly disciplines. You will be educated to Degree level Engineering or Manufacturing qualification, supplementary training in Lean and 5S would be an advantage.
