Main position objectives
The 2nd shift team supervisor will lead a group of machinist and braze furnace technicians in the construction of Gala dies. They will manage the workflow thru the shop to assure the correct jobs are being worked on. The supervisor will be responsible to see that all the employees work in a safe and effective manner.
Position description – Tasks, responsibilities, competencies

Ensure the work schedule is followed.
Provide guidance when questions arise about a part or process.
Machine spare parts as time permits.
Take care of disciplinary actions, vacation and time off request for their shift.
Check, modify and approve 2nd shift timecards.
Train any new employee assigned to 2nd shift.
Other tasks as assigned by manager.

Work Environment
Work in this position is in a machine shop environment. The employee may be exposed to airborne particles, metal shavings, sharp cutting tools, and moving mechanical parts. PPE and hearing protection are required at all times.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, or bend. The employee must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds.

Wire and plunge EMD experience
Knowledge of heat treating.
Experience grinding carbides and other hard substances.
