We are currently hiring a Data Acquisition and Controls Engineer to maintain all controls and data acquisition equipment in the field and the lab.  In this role, you will conduct tests, write technical reports, install equipment on a variety of refuse vehicles, develop test procedures and work instructions related to data acquisition and controls. To be successful in this position, you must understand and have hands-on experience with electro-mechanical systems using computerized data acquisition and control systems. This role is located in Fort Payne, AL with minimal travel to customer sites.

 

 

Job Functions:

  • Design, configure and deploy data acquisition and control systems.
  • Install different transducers, sensors, and strain gages.
  • Collect and interpret test data.
  • Operate electronic instrumentation in multiple configurations with multiple software.
  • Perform post process analysis of data received from the acquisition equipment.
  • Develop controls for automated test equipment, including hardware and PLC logic.
  • Travel to customer sites minimally - approximately 15%.

 


Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience is required. 
  • 3-5 years experience preferred; must have experience in an industrial environment or test lab; Detail oriented.
  • Proficiency in Ladder Logic and Structured text coding (IFM Controllers) is a must.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing processes and responsibilities.
  • Strong project management and problem solving skills with patience to evaluate multiple solutions to problems.
  • Advanced computer skills with the aptitude for continued learning.
  • Willingness to learn advanced measurement techniques and evaluate other techniques not currently used.
