POSITION SUMMARY:

Primarily responsible for managing the plant’s operations to ensure efficiency so company objectives are met.  This is an advanced level plant manager role.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Corresponds with Senior Director of Operations to determine direction and implementation of operations policies that reflect daily company objectives.
  • Directs plant operations through department group leaders to ensure all departments operate efficiently, meeting production and budget goals. Works with Senior Director of Operations in establishing proper metrics. 
  • Assists as required in resolving personnel issues. Alerts and/or seeks assistance from Human Resources on cases that are potentially “complicated.”
  • Communication and coordination with major distributors regarding manufacturing issues.
  • Manages all departments to ensure safety regulations are followed and to eliminate any unsafe working conditions. Receives and reviews accident reports and assures that supervisors conduct monthly safety meetings. Focus should be on accident prevention and robust case management once an accident occurs. Corporate Risk Manager and EHS Manager should be resources to assist in this function.
  • Responsible for facility EPA, OSHA compliance. Coordinate with Corporate Risk Manager and EHS Manager on these issues; deal directly with State and Federal inspectors as required.
  • Directs implementation of policies to ensure adequate levels of quality.  Investigates quality problems along with appropriate department personnel and reports investigation findings to Director of Operations.
  • Assures that all plant and corporate personnel policies are followed and implemented consistently.
  • Prepares annual plant production budgets and submits to company management.
  • Must be familiar with and in compliance to Environmental Solutions Group values, rules and Code of Ethics.
  • Attends management meetings regarding company policies and decision-making, as required. Assists in establishing employee relations policies as they relate to manufacturing operations.
  • Conducts monthly Team Member Communications meetings.
  • Represents Company to the community in a positive and honorable manner.
  • Performs performance reviews of direct reports on a timely basis.
  • Performs other various duties as may be assigned.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and previous supervisory management experience.  Extensive Managerial experience will be considered in lieu of four-year degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in an Engineered to Order Business.
  • Must possess thorough understanding of budgeting and business planning.
  • Must have comprehensive understanding of plant and equipment operation.
  • Possess excellent oral/written communication skills for internal/external relations with others including being a good listener and being willing to utilize the knowledge of all employees as appropriate. Successful manager must be able and willing to communicate with employees on a regular basis.
  • Manager must possess good people skills resulting in treating employees with respect while dealing with them in a firm, fair, consistent manner. 
  • Manager must have good organizational skills and be a good delegator.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and to concentrate and pay attention to reviewing manufacturing procedures for approximately 80% of work time.
