Director of Aftermarket

Are you a strategic leader with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve aftermarket objectives? We are seeking a Director of Aftermarket to lead our parts operations and aftermarket strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for strategic leadership including aftermarket positioning and pricing, business forecasting, product vision, mobile sites and ecommerce strategy and growth. You will ensure that aftermarket parts and service are performing against business expectations, forecasts and customer requirements. Essential to this role is the ability to work with IT to develop and implement web products and solutions across our mobile sites and applications. This role requires a proven track record in aftermarket parts and service delivery models.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage and motivate parts sales team members through development of metrics and incentive programs.
  • Define positioning strategies and development roadmaps including value proposition (TCO) definition and communication.
  • Responsible for the coordination and leadership required implementing a product idea through to product release.
  • Responsible for detailed business requirements including ability to identify impacts across internal and external systems and the definition of use case design.
  • Pricing of first fit products and support for aftermarket pricing.
  • Business forecasting and strategic planning that ensures products are featured on all global brand mobile sites.
  • Lead development of new products and services to create/improve brand loyalty with customer and dealer networks.
  • Align products and services to leverage ESG channel partner’s relationships and reach.
  • Define detailed business requirements, use cases, and product specifications for both new products and enhancements to existing products.
  • Provide sales and marketing support for existing and future products and services to both internal and external audiences.
  • Communicate with internal support and sales teams to educate, gather customer feedback and resolve product issues.
  • Some travel (approximately 15-20%) required for client visits, conferences, trade shows, etc.

 


Required and Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required with MBA or advanced degree preferred.   
  • 10 years’ experience with proven success leading aftermarket parts and service delivery teams.
  • Experience and understanding of web services, ecommerce platforms, mobile portfolio roadmaps, and online product marketing.
  • Prior experience developing and implementing product plans/detailed requirements/implementation plans and TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) value proposition.
  • Strategic and creative thinker with a high level of ownership, self-motivation and initiative.
  • Strong technical aptitude to interface with development, quality assurance, and certification areas within ESG as well as external vendors.
  • Strong execution skills with superior analytical, planning and project management experience.
  • Proven ability to service and support a range of internal and external customers, while maintaining client/stakeholder confidentiality, often in parallel and within a shifting set of priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal/presentation communication skills with ability to write detailed analytical and comprehensive product and project requirements.
  • Ability to conduct and evaluate market research.
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively and successfully interact with all functions and levels both internally and externally.
