POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for coordinating and over-seeing all material activities for their assigned value stream on second shift to ensure a continuous supply of material to support production. This position will lead a team to establish, maintain, and coordinate material requirements based on a finite schedule in accordance with the Master Schedule driven from the S&OP.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Coordinate, Maintain, and Communicate the finite production schedule for their assigned Value-Stream.
  • Support all second shift material departments working toward SQDC goals. This includes but is not limited to: Halfpack, AAP, Receiving, Warehouse.
  • Develop and maintain a continuous flow of materials to point of use to drive schedule adherence.
  • Coordinate the Daily Warehouse Kitting schedule and staging of materials/kits to all vital areas of production within their assigned value stream.
  • Identify and communicate material constraints impacting the production flow and work cross-functionally with All departments to prevent impact to production.
  • Release orders daily to production based on material availability.
  • Communicate material flow delays, kit shortages, and schedule changes to all departments impacted.
  • Set, manage, and adjust inventory levels as material requirements change per the S&OP build plan.
  • Implement ALL Engineering Change Orders pertaining to Materials within their assigned Value Stream.
  • Team member will be responsible for the following metrics/KPI’s for their given value-stream: Safety, Quality, Inventory Value, Stockouts, Scrap, and Schedule Adherence.
  • Operate with a high sense of urgency and take daily action to meet performance requirements as defined by Management.
  • Follows all plant safety rules and regulations.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethics codes.
  • Work with cross functional teams to identify upcoming orders and subsequent component requirements, root cause any purchase order/invoicing issues. Must be able to make decisions on and implement solutions with all parties both internally and externally.
  • Responsible for the NCR/CAF process to minimize any impact to the assigned value stream and ensure proper disposal to maintain accurate on hand inventory.
  • Investigate Bill of Material/Sales Order issues and drive corrective action to the appropriate departments.
  • Support our effort of continuous improvement as it pertains to safety, quality, on-time delivery, and cost metrics.
  • Maintains cleanliness and order of work area, equipment, and tools, and participates in 5S and Kaizen Initiatives.
  • Conduct 5S and safety audits and inspections.
  • Engage team members in collaborative problem solving.
  • Approve time and attendance, ensuring accurate time and attendance tracking.
  • Ensures new employees are properly trained and that the process is documented per company requirements and best practice.
  • Lead the annual physical inventory for your assigned value stream.
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of organization throughout all daily activities.  To include, but not limited to, documentation of all verbal and written correspondence with others (internal and external), proper filing of such information, planning and scheduling of appointments and the coordination of such with others within the department and/or company, time management and the prioritization of tasks.  Must document all details relative to supply of a given component to allow for tracking and/or follow-up by others in the event of absence of the employee.
  • Attendance at work, including presence at work during regular working hours or another schedule as may be assigned by the department manager, is essential.
  • Travel for this position is anticipated to be between 0-10%. Individuals interested in the role will be expected to travel up to the 10% level as required on an as needed basis.

Knowledge: Requires ability to understand general arithmetic; ability to write in an understandable manner; understand verbal or written instructions; ability to read and understand instructions, lists and billing materials; use PC based applications, including Outlook, and Microsoft Office, knowledge normally acquired through high school or equivalent experience.

Mental: Requires normal attention with periods of high concentration intermittently to operate machinery approximately 50% of time.

Environmental: Involves exposure to plant environments with the presence of dust, fumes, noise, and fluctuating temperatures due to lack of climate control.
