<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Help implement and drive process improvements, coach and manage team member performance, and ensure that manufacturing operations function effectively and efficiently. Uses a high degree of focus and commitment to plan, coordinate and direct the manufacturing operation in order to meet production goals in alignment with company goals.  Because of the business growth of Heil and this plant/location we are looking for individuals that are flexible to work either day or night shifts and open to weekend work.

 

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Lead and own the safety and safety-training program for department(s).
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Drive safety and environmental compliance.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Investigate incidents and initiate root cause corrective actions.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Conduct 5S and safety audits and inspections.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Drive quality improvements at the department level.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Liaison between manufacturing and support functions.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Engage team members in collaborative problem solving.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ownership and responsibility for:
    • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Product flow, WIP, and labor utilization and efficiency.
    • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Inventory and parts management.
    • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Implementing and sustaining lean manufacturing improvements, ownership of TIB’s.
    • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Providing technical support, real-time problem solving, and new product support.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Communication: improved open door access and communication link between team members, departments, and management etc.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Provide reward and recognition.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Provide team member performance counseling.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Implement corrective action and discipline with management approval.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Approve time and attendance, ensuring accurate time and attendance tracking.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Participate in interviewing and selection.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ensures new employees are properly trained and that the process is documented per company requirements and best practice.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Maintains cleanliness and order of work area, equipment and tools, and participates in 5S and Kaizen Initiatives.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Consistently participates in LEAN and other continuous improvement activities to support SQDCME metrics.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Monitors Kan Ban and materials issues to support continuous improvement.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Learns and participates in problem solving methods to support objectives.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Performs other various duties as required.

 

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Associates Degree or 10 years of experience.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">5-10 years of experience in manufacturing; 2 -5 years of experience in supervision; experience on 2 lines within the plant.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must be flexible to work either day or night shifts and open to weekend work.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must be able to acquire or learn the principles of LEAN, continuous improvement and problem solving skills as required. 
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Coach, mentor and provide leadership to all team members.  Supervisor must possess good people skills resulting in treating employees with respect while dealing with them in a firm, fair, consistent manner.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must have good organizational skills and be a good delegator.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must possess thorough understanding of complex machine tools; read and understand complex blueprints, specifications, electrical schematics and instructions, and operate welding machines.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Requires ability to read, comprehend and follow complicated verbal instructions, use planning skills to organize work processes and be able to communicate effectively with his/her team and internal/external customers. 
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Requires ability to follow verbal instructions and to communicate with outside sources and internal departments in person and via telephone. Requires the ability to read written instructions, correspondence and other documentation, observe machinery and drawings, as well as operate office equipment such as computers (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and printers. 
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Uses color and depth perception to check for product quality problems. 
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Requires capability of performing essential job functions in an established office environment under normal lighting and climate control tolerances, with some exposure to plant environments with the presence of dust, fumes, noise, and fluctuating temperatures due to lack of climate control.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Requires walking and standing approximately 80%, sitting approximately 20% and lifting up to 40 pounds approximately 5% of time; involves some repetitive overhead work 5% of time; involves repetitive stooping, and forward bending and crouching approximately 5% of time.  Requires the ability to engage in repetitive lifting; operation of general hand tools, computers, copy machine, other general office equipment, and to record written information.
