Position Summary:  

Unload trucks and check in material against packing slips to ensure completion and accuracy—transfer material from Receiving to Storage areas with a forklift. Transfer parts between the prototype warehouse and the test lab using a truck and trailer. Maintain location and inventory levels for efficient, and accurate, tracking and parts delivery.  Assist in preparing and planning for company inventories. Participate in physical company inventories. Inspects prototype parts using a tape measure, calibers, micrometers, and surface plate.  

Roles and Key Responsibilities:  

1. Maintain and control prototype parts inventory.  

2. Drive a forklift and pass certification course.  

3. Drive a truck and a 5th wheel trailer between the prototype warehouse and the Heil Test Lab.  

4. Read and decipher packing slip information.  

5. Lift minimum 40 pounds repetitively.  

6. Performs other various duties as may be assigned.  

7. Work safely, report any safety concerns to Management.  

8. Actively participates in Continuous Improvement initiatives.  

9. Perform process audits and report findings.  

10. Excellent computer skills and written communication skills, including CAD Viewer, JD Edwards, and an Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel and Word).  

11. Able to use and train others in the use of QA instrumentation. (Height gauge, Calipers, Micrometer, Paint film gauging, Pressure gauges, Steel rulers (scales) and Torque gauges).  

13. Participate in NCR Procedure workflow as a facilitator.  

14. Participates in 8-D corrective action process.  

16. Blueprint reading.  

 

Requirements:  

1. This position could require overnight travel at times but should be less than 10% of the time worked.  

2. Must have a valid driver’s license, and CDL license is preferred.  

3. A working knowledge of electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics, and MIG welding and assembly techniques would be a plus. Knowledge of the functions of various models of Heil refuse vehicles would be preferred.  

Education: Requires a High School diploma or GED.  

Knowledge: Requires ability to understand general arithmetic; ability to write in an understandable manner; understand verbal or written instructions; ability to read and understand instructions, lists and billing materials; use PC based applications, including Mainstar, Outlook, and Microsoft Office, knowledge normally acquired through high school or equivalent experience.  

Mental: Requires normal attention with periods of high concentration intermittently to operate machinery approximately 50% of time.  

Physical: Requires walking/standing approximately 70%, lifting up to 40 pounds approximately 15% of time; involves repetitive overhead work approximately 10% of time; involves repetitive stooping, forward bending and crouching approximately 5% of time.  

Manual Dexterity: Requires use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate all manufacturing equipment, meters, chains hoists, automatic drills and general hand tools and to record written information.  

Audible Demands: Requires ability to follow verbal instructions and to listen for safety purposes.  

Visual: Requires the ability to visually observe essential functions for satisfactory job performance and safety; color and depth perception required.  

Environmental: Involves exposure to plant environments with the presence of dust, fumes, noise, and fluctuating temperatures due to lack of climate control.
