As a multi-skilled maintenance engineer, you will be a member of a team responsible for the continuous up keep and improvement of the sites facilities and machinery through planned and preventative maintenance programmes. Repairs and Maintenance cover a wide range of aspects and are to be considered as both mechanical and electrical repairs or improvements. This role is vital to the efficiency, development and progress of the site through full implementation of our TPM programme.  Working with other professionals, you will improve the facilities, reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns and develop strategies to improve the overall reliability and the safety of the plant.


Role Purpose / Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Mechanically service and repair Manual and CNC machines
•    Electrically service and repair Manual and CNC machines 
•    Maintain site services where qualified or capable
•    Maintain site ancillary equipment where qualified or capable
•    Maintain site safety equipment where qualified or capable
•    Maintain accurate repair time and parts records through the site maintenance programme/software
•    Carry out fault diagnostics and implement suitable corrective actions through troubleshooting
•    Carry out routine inspections and cleaning of key aspects of machinery.
•    Respond to breakdowns and initiate suitable repairs
•    Ensure personal and machine compliance within current H&S legislation
•    Manage stocks and supplies of equipment
•    Assist in the continual development of maintenance procedures
•    Assist in the development of the site TPM schedule
•    Assist in the identification and sourcing of specialist components, fixtures, or fittings
•    Assist / Liaise with contractors on specialised repairs and/or projects.
•    ‘On Call’ work may be required in emergency situations; particularly where certain key equipment is running 24/5
•    Participate in site safety initiatives such as EBBS
•    Participate in site Continuous Improvement programme
•    Actively participate in and control the Maintenance work areas through the site 5S program


Skills and Experience:

•    5 years minimum experience of machine shop and site maintenance in a production manufacturing facility.
•    Strong understanding of health and safety on site.
•    IT literate as there will be need to complete company programmes on line and use the company business system on a daily basis.
•    Experience with multiple machine control systems including Fanuc and Heidenheim
•    Continuous Improvement knowledge
•    Excellent communication skills and ability to work and communicate with people inside and outside the organisation.
•    Able to work as part of a team and individually
•    Experience of using CMMS systems.

 

Qualifications:

•    Time served Electrical Engineer or Multi-Skilled Engineer 
•    18th edition qualified
•    IPAF trained and certified
•    Trained in lifting and slinging
•    Trained forklift driver
