Position Summary:  The CAD Designer works with engineers to provide design of components and assemblies to support operations and customer requirements for new and existing products.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a dynamic team for engineering projects related global and regional manufacturing programs.
  • Design special / custom products using SolidWorks to meet customer specifications.
  • Provide accurate designs and layouts for new product development and existing products.
  • Assists in the creation and maintenance of Bill of Materials.
  • Update CAD drawings for the release Engineering Change Notices and process Engineering Change Requests.
  • Perform administrative duties for the ECN process.
  • Check drawings and layouts for accuracy, proper use of GD&T and tolerance stack up analysis.
  • Participate in multifunctional teams, to interact with Sales, Quality and Manufacturing.



  • Highschool diploma with some CAD design and math based coursework.
  • Enrollment in an Associate Degree or equivalent at a two-year college or technical school required.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as ratios & proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Design software; Development software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with SolidWorks 2017 or later.
  • Strong team player, work ethic and commitment to win.
