The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing the process of planning, sourcing,  and procuring a variety of commodities including castings, metal fabrication, machined parts, safety products, industrial hardware, etc.  This position will lead and direct all facets of supply chain management including, but not limited to, purchasing, strategic sourcing, inventory management, material forecasting, and capacity planning.



  • Development and implementation of material cost reduction programs to support financial objectives of the business, with a major focus on metals, castings, critical outsourced completed components for both domestic and international suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier core competencies and identify strategic suppliers for long term partnership.
  • Participate in development of negotiation strategies that deliver against business objectives and achieves sustainable relationships with suppliers.
  • Manage buyers’ responsibilities including request for quotations, inventory levels, on-time deliveries, cost reduction projects, expediting, supplier relationship management and MRP system maintenance.
  • Drive culture change to instill focus on Lean Enterprise and continuous process improvements throughout the assigned areas.
  • Develop and implement a consistent approach, tools, and process for cross-functional supply chain analysis, driving alignment and consistency.
  • Establish and implement appropriate metrics to measure departmental and supplier performance.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets accordingly.
  • Establishes annual goals and objectives, in coordination with business objectives, and manages performance to ensure attainment.
  • Supplier management including negotiating contracts with suppliers, as well as performing research and selection to enhance profitability, reduction of operating costs and boost efficiency.
  • Coach, inspire, and develop the team to maximize growth and development opportunities.
  • Oversee production planning to ensure planners’ responsibilities are performed and resource/inventory constraints are reported/addressed in a timely manner.
  • Align PSG & Dover sourcing strategy.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Purchasing, or related field of study is desired or a minimum of 10 years related experience in planning, sourcing, purchasing and supply chain or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional negotiation expertise.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong administrative and data management skills.
  • Ability to work well with others in all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Adept at forging relationships and aligning team members and resources to achieve department initiatives.
  • Ability to raise issues proactively and in a timely manner.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Extensive experience with negotiating terms and conditions (T&Cs), long term agreements (LTA), Pricing.
  • Willingness to challenge the current situation/supplier data base, while meeting the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated success translating data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and mentor.
  • Experience managing a multifaceted team of 8-15 people.
