Summary

Design and develop, by application of analytical and value engineering principles, products, and/or product modifications.  Support the technical development of engineering design, through the design stage and production build.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. 
•    Design products and product modifications in accordance with sound engineering principles and CAD tools.
•    Manage special design projects in a cross-functional environment.
•    Provide technical assistance to engineers, CAD designers, and other team members for projects and/or product lines.
•    Create and manage Bills of Material (BOMs) in the Oracle ERP system.
•    Support production departments by resolving manufacturing and assembly modifications effectively and promptly.
•    Interact with Purchasing to obtain quotes for critical parts, maintaining open channels of communication to ensure timely procurement.
•    Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to address manufacturing process controls and assembly instructions, following through on any arising concerns.
•    Guide and mentor designers in best practices and project requirements to enhance their contributions and development.
•    Support the Engineering Change (ECN) process by maintaining accurate production drawings and BOMs, and processing Engineering Change Requests efficiently.
•    Specify testing requirements and parameters and compile final test summaries to validate product performance.
•    Obtain necessary approval in compliance with legal obligations and certifying agencies.
•    Issue technical instructions and engineering specifications as required.
•    Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.

Regulatory and Compliance - Working knowledge of Harmonized Tarif Codes (HTS), Export Control Classification Number (ECCN), and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). A knowledge of EU and EAC regulatory requirements (ATEX, Machinery Directive, PED, etc.) is desired.

Education and/or Experience
A bachelor’s degree (BS Mechanical Engineering) from an ABET-accredited four-year college or university with a minimum of three (3) years of engineering design experience and three (3) years of experience with SolidWorks or other 3-D CAD platform experience is required. 
Rotating equipment design experience such as pumps, engines, flowmeters, or similar is required.  Reciprocating equipment, such as internal combustion engines or compressor design experience is likewise applicable. 
Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle. 
Microsoft Office Suite literacy is mandatory, particularly in Word and Excel. 
Capable of reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  
Write routine reports and correspondence.  
Effectively speak before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Proven to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 
Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations are desired but not required. A desire to achieve certification, education, and development within the scope of responsibility.
