POSITION SUMMARY:

Perform a wide variety of diversified duties to assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assemble and test pumps, mixers and water treatment units (Must be able to lift 40-50 pounds.  The units and components are heavy in large mixers and polymaster, for Abaque sometimes).
  • Review electrical systems, build procedures and testing procedures. Provide advice on revision/correction if necessary.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Determine causes of operating errors and inform supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ year technical training and electrical maintenance in an industrial or manufacturing environment, valid diploma from a technical institute or college; education and experience combined will be considered.
  • Must be able to read and interpret electrical blueprints, drawings, specifications and manuals.
  • Must be knowledgeable of electrical systems, equipment, and tools including by not limited to their design, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Familiar with computer software programs such as Microsoft Office.

 

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

  • Strong team player, good work ethic and ability to be flexible and work within a collaborative team environment to meet production and company needs.
  • Must consistently demonstrate the highest standards in both the quality and quantity of work performed and is capable of trouble-shooting.
