This position is a key plant and functional leadership position, reporting directly to the Director of Operations and Supply Chain.  The PSG-California Supply Chain Manager will lead plant supply chain activities and be responsible for a Materials Flow Planning, Receiving, Put Away, Materials Handling, Kitting and Spare Parts with full ownership of driving required projects and actions to accomplish and sustain site goals and expectations. 

The manager will also be responsible for developing, updating, and modifying internal plant materials systems. This role will drive plant supply chain, operations excellence and collaborate with internal leadership to apply proven practices that ensure continuous improvement. As a key member of the Operations team, the Supply Chain Manager must be able to work cross functionally to meet plant and business objectives.


BA/BS in Finance/Accounting/Economics/Business/Supply Chain/Industrial Engineering or related field.


Desirable Certifications

  • Lean Six Sigma – Green Belt
  • ERP’s such as Oracle, SAP and Forecasting Tools



  • 10+ years of experience with materials flow, inventory management and forecasting tools and work order management, production scheduling, inventory replenishment and/or supply chain.
  • 8+ years of experience in Managing a materials planning, materials flow, Production Planning/Purchasing Team in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Experience leading or actively participating in a Sales and Operations Planning process (S&OP)
  • Proven success in managing a process and team towards the execution of corporate goals and initiatives, specifically in the area of Inventory control, Process Improvements and Lean Thinking
  • Strategic thinking with ability to facilitate and influence colleagues and direct reports
  • Exceptional analytical abilities and verbal/written communication skills

Duties and Responsibilities:  

Leading Materials Handling and Receiving Team:


  • Develop/implement strategies to secure consistent incoming receipts, reduced total receiving lead time.
  • Responsible to communicate to Purchasing and Suppliers opportunities to improve pallet size, quantity, stack high, lot size, with strategic suppliers to facilitate receiving, handling storage and cycle counting.
  • Inspire, grow, retain, and engage employees using leadership tools providing timely feedback and managing employee performance.
  • Identify training needs for Materials handling, Kitting and Spares Parts to increase and improve resources capabilities and Oracle and Product knowledge.
  • Leads Value Stream Meetings actions to drive CI’s actions implement KANBAN and Min Max lot size and MOQ’s for a better material handling and flow
  • Develops strategies to meet raw material space requirements, inventory locators to achieve inventory goals and safety stock programs to improve internal lead times
  • Support daily Gemba walks and production requests (escalation process) to reduce or eliminate expedites and kitting errors or missing parts.
  • Implement, maintain, and coach team on Daily Huddle metrics to drive root cause and countermeasure accountability use problem solving methods such as 5why’s and 8D’s
  • Lead and support efforts to right size inventory in accordance PFEP and Oracle and stoking strategies to meet our annual targets.
  • Develop Materials, Kitting and Spare Parts processes and procedures with supporting KPI’s.



 Leading Kitting and Spare Parts Team:


  • Manages Materials and Kitting teams to keep Customer and market lead times developing process directly impacting Customer On-Time delivery (Internal and External)
  • Implement the policies, procedures, systems, and programs required to support Quick Ship Programs, Stocking Programs (PFEP) Short Lead Times
  • Ensure teach department performs at least 90% on Schedule Attainment metric
  • Drives daily Management of planning/pull systems using Oracle MRP concepts such as time fences, demand input consumption rules, work order execution.
  • Support the execution of the production plans, production schedules, resource requirements and constraints.
  • Evaluate the short- and long-term unit and dollar inventory projections at the raw, sub-assembly, WIP and finished good levels.
  • Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the effective operation of the material planning functions. This will include coaching and mentoring the materials team for optimal results and associate development in Oracle, Lean Thinking, Materials Flow and RCCM
  • Support critical areas that will have an impact on the operating profit, working capital turns and customer service levels of the supported business platforms.




Materials Flow and Inventory Management:


  • Drive Warehouse and materials flow optimization.
  • Supports our annual cost reduction projects.
  • Resolve and implement corrective actions from as quality issues arise with purchased parts
  • Manage Cycle Counts team
  • Develop actions, training for Cycle Counts team root cause analysis and problem solving  
  • Sustain Inventory accuracy to 90%




S&OP Processes:


  • Support sales and operations (S&OP) planning internal process, review recommended sales forecasts and inventory goals, and drive the agreement forecast
  • Utilize historical consumption to convert the consensus chair forecast to component forecast and to set inventory targets (including safety stock and max levels)
  • Track, report, and communicate forecast and inventory measurements such as forecast accuracy, and inventory plan vs. targets.
  • Maintain and continuously improve forecasting processes and techniques
  • Assemble and analyze all data pertinent to creating the sales forecast (historical sales, market trends, seasonality, promotions, and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Sales on new product introduction forecast ramp
  • Review forecasts closely with buyers/planners and take feedback/inputs to make appropriate adjustments to forecast and inventory locations and space
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Finance on product life cycles processes
  • Establish policies and procedures with Purchasing, and Production Control Managers that lead to optimal inventory levels and reduce of excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Track engineering change notifications (ECN) and make appropriate adjustments in forecasting system to enable sound planning of future supply
  • Previous experience with SAP/Oracle Forecasting S&OP integration



Team Management:


  • Leads performance evaluations, helps sets goals and objectives and monitor’s progress. Maintains a cross-training program and assists creating a strong succession plan to accommodate changes in business needs.
  • Develop consistency on Kitting, Spares and Materials Handling teams across the site
  • Develop training materials for new materials handlers, Kitters and Spare Parts team
  • Builds and maintain successful relationships across departments, to drive efficiencies and better serve our customers.
