Summary:

The Test Engineer is a hands-on technical expert of a test lab team who supports product engineering and customer service by designing and building experiments, performing certified product testing, and evaluating product returns.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred)

Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of hands-on work experience as Test/Reliability Engineer, Development Engineer or similar.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Required:

  • Experience in designing and building of plumbing, pneumatic, and electrical schemes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Interpersonal skills working in a team setting and participating in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to effectively communicate research processes, findings, and conclusions.
  • LabView / National Instruments or other data acquisition knowledge.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

 

Preferred:

  • Experience in PLC programming and instrumentation.
  • SolidWorks or equivalent 3-D design experience.
  • Basic Machine shop experience.
  • Knowledge of fluid dynamics.
  • Knowledge of electromechanical systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform product testing.
  • Write test reports and conclusions.
  • Provide technical expertise in testing, experimental design, and failure analysis.
  • Create test plans and schedules for product validation required in new product development collaborating with product development engineers.
  • Design, layout and build new test equipment.
  • Layout and installation of plumbing and pneumatic schemes and controls, wiring of electrical control circuits.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts with RMA pumps, creating reports and determining disposition, collaborating with engineers as needed.
  • Draw conclusions from test results and makes recommendations for design or process changes accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain test procedures, work instructions and lab documentation.
  • Works with hand/power tools, capable of working with machinery and can repetitively lift weights up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • All other duties assigned.

Work Environment: The environment is both office and manufacturing. The manufacturing environment is subject to moderate changes in temperature and the employee will be exposed to typical hazards of noise, flying debris, and overhead hazards requiring the use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
