Summary: The Warehouse Manager is a key plant and functional leadership position, reporting directly to the Director of Operations and Supply Chain.  The PSG California Warehouse Manager will lead warehouse activities and be responsible for overseeing the following: Material Handling, Receiving, Kitting, and Inventory Control with full ownership of driving required projects and actions to accomplish and sustain site goals and expectations. 

The Warehouse Manager will also be responsible for developing, updating, and modifying internal plant material systems. This role will drive plant operations excellence and collaborate with internal leadership to apply proven practices that ensure continuous improvement. As a key member of the Operations team, the Warehouse Manager must be able to work cross functionally to meet plant and business objectives.

Education: High school diploma. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

 

Desirable Certifications

  • Lean Six Sigma – Green Belt
  • APICS – CPIM
  • ERP’s such as Oracle, SAP and Forecasting Tools

 

Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience with materials flow, inventory management and forecasting tools and work order management, production scheduling, inventory replenishment and/or supply chain.
  • A minimum of 5 years management experience within a manufacturing warehouse environment
  • Proven success in managing a process and team towards the execution of corporate goals and initiatives, specifically in inventory control, process improvements and Lean thinking
  • Strategic thinking with ability to facilitate and influence colleagues and direct reports
  • Exceptional analytical abilities and verbal/written communication skills

Duties and Responsibilities:  

Lead Material Handling and Receiving Team:

 

  • Develop/implement strategies to secure consistent incoming receipts, reduced total receiving lead time.
  • Drive warehouse and materials flow optimization.
  • Responsible to communicate to purchasing and suppliers opportunities to improve pallet size, quantity, stack high, lot size, with strategic suppliers to facilitate receiving, handling storage and cycle counting.
  • Identify training needs to increase and improve resource capabilities and Oracle and product knowledge.
  • Leads value stream meeting actions to drive CI’s and implement KANBAN and Min Max lot size and MOQ’s for a better material handling and flow
  • Develops strategies to meet raw material space requirements, inventory locators to achieve inventory goals and safety stock programs to improve internal lead times
  • Support daily Gemba walks and production requests (escalation process) to reduce or eliminate expedites and kitting errors or missing parts.
  • Implement, maintain, and coach team on daily huddle metrics to drive root cause and countermeasure accountability by using problem solving methods such as 5why’s and 8D’s
  • Lead and support efforts to right size inventory in accordance PFEP and Oracle and stoking strategies to meet our annual targets.
  • Develop processes and procedures with supporting KPI’s.
  • Support inventory accuracy policies and procedures to achieve 95% accuracy

 

 

 Leading Kitting Team:

 

  • Develop processes directly tied to Customer On-Time delivery (Internal and External)
  • Implement policies, procedures, systems, and programs required to support Quick Ship Programs, Stocking Programs (PFEP) Short Lead Times
  • Ensure department performs to standard on schedule attainment metric
  • Drives daily management of planning/pull systems using Oracle MRP, KANBAN, Min Max-ROP
  • Support the execution of the production plans, production schedules, resource requirements and constraints.
  • Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the effective operation of the kitting function.
  • Support critical areas that will have an impact on the operating profit, working capital turns and customer service levels of the supported business platforms.
  • Support inventory accuracy policies and procedures to achieve 95% accuracy

 

Inventory Control:

 

  • Deploy and follow up training, processes, and disciplines to achieve and sustain Inventory accuracy to 95%
  • Supports our annual cost reduction projects.
  • Resolve and implement corrective actions from as quality issues arise with purchased parts
  • Oversee management of cycle count team
  • Develop actions, training for cycle counts team including root cause analysis and problem solving  

 

 

Team Management:

 

  • Leads performance evaluations, helps sets goals and objectives and monitor’s progress.
  • Maintains a cross-training program and assists creating a strong succession plan to accommodate changes in business needs.
  • Inspire, grow, retain, and engage employees using leadership tools providing timely feedback and managing employee performance.
  • Develop consistency with Kitting, Materials Handling and Receiving and Inventory Control teams across the site
  • Develop training materials for new employees
  • Builds and maintain successful relationships across departments, to drive efficiencies and better serve our customers.

Work Environment: The environment is both office and manufacturing. The manufacturing environment is subject to moderate changes in temperature and the employee will be exposed to typical hazards of noise, flying debris, and overhead hazards requiring the use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
