PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist Production Manager by taking charge of operating shift and performing responsibilities as a shift supervisor in order to direct workflow through independent product cell areas. Lead individuals who perform manufacturing processes including but not limited to assembly, welding, and machining. Lead employees who operate and prepare Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) and manual machines for manufacturing  by transferring programming instructions that guide the process of turning raw materials such as steel, brass and carbon steel into specific shapes and forms. Ensures that the work of machinists conforms to specifications. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Key deliverables in order of importance: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost
  • Ensure shipment dates are updated and communicated to Production Manager.
  • Maintain daily efficiency tracking and develop productivity improvements.
  • Supervise hourly work force.
  • Ensure work produced is performed in a safe and productive manner.
  • Be responsible for the quality produced in work area.
  • Coordinate with other supervisors in transitioning from one shift to another.
  • Execute daily production schedule, anticipate and determine delays and take appropriate action to meet shipping schedules.
  • Report to Production Manager if delays will occur, estimate length of delay and resolutions.

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Oracle operating systems

Machine shop experience

Proficient understanding of Continuous Improvement

Working knowledge of CNC and manual machine processes

Ability to use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers and depth micrometers.

Ability to program CNC machines using G-Code, Mazatrol, or Fanuc controls.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor degree in Engineering / Business

Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in supervisory role preferably in manufacturing environment
