As a member of the Project management team, the Project Manager takes end to end responsibility for the entire project cycle from Purchase Order until final acceptance to make sure that all project deliverables are provided in scope, time and budget. He has to overcome all obstacles that endanger project objectives at the whole project lifecycle. After receipt of the purchase order the Project Manager acts as a Technical Project Manager to finalize scope, timeline, and budget and to manage the project through the execution phase until final acceptance.
The Project Manager will work with the Pre-Sales Team to ensure smooth handover and well understanding of customer demand, to deliver the best possible customer experience.
This role shall include the responsibility and accountability for the whole project lifecycle including project planning, execution and close-down. The Project Manager will define and set up project organization. Plan / request / coordinate project resources and setup communication structure and facilitate communication flow.
As a result, it is a key role that contributes heavily towards the success of each client implementation.
The successful candidate likes to be in the driver seat with good appearance towards the customer and experiences in project management / coordination of IT deployments and rollouts. Advanced communication and negotiation skills, as well as an innate ability to simplify complex technology concepts and to plan, prioritize and seamlessly integrate all moving parts to deploy successful solutions are part of the profile.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be the key Person and Point of Contact for our customers regarding all Project Topics. Travel to these projects as needed.
- Become a “trusted advisor” and work to influence the direction, focus and strategy of the account base as it relates to initiatives in our space.
- Be responsible for project planning: scope, schedule, and budget. Track project progress / deliverables and update planning accordingly.
- Track project costs and measure against baseline.
- Manage Factory System Test (FST) and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT).
- Work close to internal delivery units in terms of forecasts, priorities, issues.
- Apply project change management in terms of changes: scope, schedule budget.
- Share project status with customer and further stakeholder on a regular basis.
- Manage issues / actions / decisions / dependencies and perform meaningful escalation management.
- Implement risk management for and take appropriate actions to avoid or mitigate impacts to the project with follow up, including the development of measures and plans to prevent/address risks, or minimize their influence.
- Ensure proper handover to operations / service at project close-down.
- Identify the potential to generate new business, and trigger Sales accordingly.
- Perform internal/external project review.
- Get satisfaction to client and project sponsor.
- Constantly train yourself to new get a deeper knowledge of the Products and new features.
- Thrive customer feedback to appropriate Departments internally for Product improvements and enhancements
- The position involves approximately 20% travel, both domestically and internationally
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledgeable of packaging industry automation products preferably Track & Trace and Pharma environment.
- Experience managing/coordination of Projects, IT deployments and rollouts of different sizes.
- Technical background in automation, mechanical and electrical engineering, IT
- Computer skills and aptitude for quickly learning new software tools and computer hardware.
- Experience in dealing with clients.
- Must be comfortable in a highly dynamic environment, working with a variety of disciplines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Self-organized, solution oriented, customer oriented
- Effective verbal communication skills (in-person, conference calls, presentations) and business writing proficiency (transactional – emails; informational - call reports, meeting minutes; persuasive - customer proposals).
- Possesses strong customer relation skills.
- Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills and is at home in negotiation management.
- Experiences in working with virtual teams located in different regions.
- Language English, German
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- B.A. / B.S. degree – prefer Engineering
- 5 + years of practical Project Management experience; process automation, automated manufacturing experience preferred
