The Director of Operations is responsible for driving productivity by providing leadership to multiple Dover Precision Components Aftermarket service centers and ensuring a safe and collaborative working environment. This role will oversee the development of products and processes, working closely with service center leaders across US as well as functional areas of the businesses, to implement Operational Excellence & particularly Lean Manufacturing techniques. The successful encumbent will direct and coordinate the production processes of manufacturing and repair by performing the following duties:    


•    Ensures the safe operation of the service centers and the safety of Dover Precision Components employees. Effectively implements “Zero Harm at home & at work” mission 
•    Oversees Safety, Production, Planning, Quality, Supply Chain, Inside Sales, Customer Service and Manufacturing Engineering; all relating to the operations of the service centers
•    Supports the implementation and training of continuous improvement principles within the shop environment. Implements best practices and improvements that have been identified by Dover Precision Components employees and management
•    Supports managers and supervisors in the accomplishment of daily/weekly & quarterly activities as outlined in the Leader Standard Work  
•    Promotes the utilization of statistical and process visual measurements to manage the operation and deliver customer satisfaction and world class quality
•    Champions process improvement and lean manufacturing activities; oversees the implementation of best practices across manufacturing/repair operations
•    Complies with all Federal, State, and Local labor laws, environmental regulations, OSHA compliance and City ordinances
•    Coordinates resources to satisfy both internal and external customers; to deliver superior products and quality service in a fast-paced environment that meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations
•    Directs all operations departments including machining, assembly, logistics, quality, process improvement, and materials; directs operating personnel in optimization of plant facilities and assigns maintenance priorities
•    Works with the VP/GM Aftermarket to make operational adjustments as necessary by reviewing/owning the P&L Statements, Sales Reports, and daily reports to insure continued growth in productivity/efficiency
•    Assists the VP/GM Aftermarket & finance team in developing & executing an accurate manning, operating expense,  and capital expenditure budgets
•    Develops capital equipment requirements and justifications
•    Assumes overall responsibility for safety performance, productivity performance, delivery performance and production quality 
•    Directs, coaches, and develops managers; sets goals in training and development, performance, and career planning by leveraging strong problem-solving and conflict resolution capabilities
•    Works effectively in a matrix organizational structure
•    Champions performance management and training initiatives
•    Maintains productive relationships with external customers including; marketing/commercial group, contractors, engineering, vendors, government agencies, and regulatory agencies
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•    Excellent business & financial acumen coupled with deep understanding of P&L statements

Education and Experience:

•    Four year college or university degree in Engineering, Business or related field 
•    Master's degree in Business or related field preferred
•    Six or more years of relevant experience required
•    Experience in the oil and gas industry preferred
•    Experience in manufacturing/repair of reciprocating compressor components preferred
