Summary:

The electrician will install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits, systems, facilities, and related electrical controls and devices. This position inspects and certifies work is in compliance with state and local electrical codes while performing the following duties:

 

What You’ll Do

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Lead electrical aspects of all facility related improvement, expansion, and repair projects.
  • Accurately estimate material costs and labor hours for electrical related projects.
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Follow and as-built various engineered drawings including: electrical interconnects, schematics, MCC and SWGR one-line diagrams, panel drawings, and cable schedules.
  • Assist in facility related electrical and non-electrical safety improvement initiatives, and hazard risk assessments.
  • Assist Maintenance Technicians with non-electrical related tasks.
  • Maintain valid state electrical licensing.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the Facilities Lead, or Manufacturing Engineering & Facilities Manager.

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must possess a valid Journeyman Electrician license from the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation, or within a state of reciprocity.
  • Must have 2+ years of work experience as a valid licensed Journeyman Electrician, or higher licensed electrician.

 

The ideal candidate possesses the following experience, skills, and abilities:

  • Knowledge of service entry power, power distribution, switchgear/switch racks, and MCCs.
  • Ability to estimate time and material required for jobs.
  • Comprehensive electrical & electronic diagnostic, troubleshooting and analytical skills preferred.
  • Must be comfortable working with high voltage power (480v).
  • Must know electrical building codes.
  • Need proficient computer skills (outlook, Microsoft office, etc.)
  • Be able to read building schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and provide effective solutions.
  • Firsthand production equipment knowledge (CNCs, manual machines, etc.).
  • Able to handle multiple concurrent projects at varying stages while prioritizing and planning work activity.
  • Read, write and complete reports in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate with internal company, external vendors and clients effectively.
  • Ability to make routine decisions within a predetermined span of authority.
  • Must have a hands-on approach and strong work ethic and aptitude.
  • Ability to handle basic mechanical tools.
  • Above average organizational skills
  • Be able to use a scissor lift.
  • Have excellent time management skills and work well within a structured work schedule.
