Dover Precision Components is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer for our Cook Compression brand. We deliver performance-critical solutions for rotating and reciprocating machinery across several markets, including oil & gas. WHAT YOU’LL DO
Join our ISO certified Lean manufacturing site as a Manufacturing Engineer. In this role, you will
design, development and implement improvement processes to enhance the capacity, quality and efficiency of manufacturing methods. You will work with cross-functional teams to eliminate waste and implement innovative systems to improve workflow. You will program CNC equipment to meet customer specifications. Responsibilities include:
- Work with Operations team to make operational adjustments as necessary by reviewing daily reports to ensure continued growth in productivity and efficiency
- Plan and implement the layout of plant, office, and production equipment to provide the maximum utilization of facilities and efficiency of production
- Apply Lean principles to optimize work/process flow, set-up time reduction and quick change over
- Program multi-axis CNC equipment using GibbsCAM and MAZATROL to customer design specifications. On the job training may be provided.
- Research, evaluate and recommend new equipment and tools to enhance production processes
- Conduct safety audits to identify potential accidents and health hazards in work areas
- Leverage the company’s ERP system (Syteline) to analyze manufacturing data
- Document standard work includes creation of work instructions, recording and analyzing cycle times, and value stream mapping
- Identify, participate in Kaizen projects
- Train production employees as necessary to develop/enhance skills, introduce new processes or resolve issues
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered
- 2+ years’ experience in manufacturing operations in an engineering or CNC programming role
- Practical knowledge of continuous improvement and lean concepts
- Proficiency with MS Office and relevant engineering software
- In- depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical and pneumatic hardware
- Proficient in reading drawings, sketches and interpreting design ideas
- Exceptional problem solving and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally to develop and implement improvement ideas
- Self-directed and detail oriented
ALSO GREAT IF YOU BRING/ PREFERENCES
- 2+ years’ experience programming CNC equipment using GibbsCAM/ FeatureCAM
- MAZATROL programming experience
- Understanding of reciprocating compressors and the function of major components in the oil & gas industry
