3rd Eye is disrupting the traditional Fleet Safety Video Monitoring and Telematics industries with leading high-quality media and reliable digital delivery. Our services are engineered for high availability, maximum reach, and cost savings for our customers. Fleet managers can watch live streams or review safety events instantly, from any device, to monitor their vehicle fleet. Our technology is the cornerstone of our industry and our customers use it to improve their fleet safety, operational, and maintenance performance.



The Technical Business Analyst will work with end users and the ESG Data Lake team to determine business requirements, define KPIs, and develop BI reports and dashboards.  The team member will create standard definitions of data, to facilitate easy user consumption directly or via other applications.


The candidate will be responsible for designing and curating end user datasets, performing advanced queries and analytics, and implementing dashboards and reporting solutions.  Utilizing best practices, the team member will work with colleagues to ensure backend processes are maintained and optimized for efficient results.  Additionally, this role will work with “power users” in key departments to grow their skillset in BI report creation tools.


Strong interpersonal, organizational, communications, requirements analysis and problem-solving skills are required.  This position requires a self-motivated individual with an interest in delving into the sources and interactions of data.



  • Analyze:
    • Translates end user’s business needs into IT specific requirements.
    • Collaborate to establish plans that meet success criteria efficiently and highlight requirements that will inflate scope.
    • Understand data requirements and business objectives to analyze existing datasets.
      • Determine if data is available to meet the requirements.
      • Utilize existing ETL and work with team to optimize jobs were necessary.
      • Work hand in hand with team members to set ETL data requirements.
    • Create detailed documentation for estimates, requirements including diagrams, and stakeholder sign offs.  
  • Design:
    • Work creatively and effectively to present data through analytic dashboards.
    • Understand SQL Databases, Queries, and Views.
      • Use your knowledge and skillsets to link different tables to extrapolate information.
    • Utilize Data Models to meet business standards and implement reusable designs.
      • Work with team to support and optimize Data Lake Schema Models.
      • Determine data refresh policies and reduce DB performance drag.
    • Needs to collaborate with off-shore development resources.
  • Support:
    • Able to quickly adapt to ad-hoc requests while maintaining the commitments of scheduled tasks. Able to work outside of sprint cycles for ad-hoc requests.
    • Requires working knowledge of current versions of Business Intelligence tools (Power BI Desktop, and Power BI Reporting Server).
      • Willingness to continually enhance toolset knowledge through further education and workplace experience.
    • Work with departmental champions to train and grow BI power users across the organization.
    • Help write communications to highlight release to customers of new features.
    • Monitor and support the scheduled reports and dashboards. 
      • Determine the cause of failed processes and resubmit when needed.
      • Validate the accuracy of the data.
      • Continually look for solutions that facilitate running processes efficiently and effectively.



  • Bachelor’s Degree, Associate Degree, or higher in Computer Science, Programming, or Information Systems is required or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of overall IT experience.
  • Exposure to ETL tools.
  • Implementation or management of an enterprise level BI solution. (Power BI required)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication & collaboration skills 
  • Strong SQL and report writing/maintenance skills are required.
  • Work Experience with Snowflake is preferred.
  • 2 years background in Automotive and/or Waste Industry are preferred.
  • Skills in source control, deployment and scheduling toolsets: Gitlab, and Jenkins are preferred.
  • Experience in Agile Development Framework.
