POSITION SUMMARY:

The Safety Module Product Manager sets the strategy and drives the roadmap for the 3rd Eye Safety Module to improve safety and cost savings for the customers. Works closely with our agile development and engineering teams to define and prioritize requirements, build, launch and iterate in order to deliver quality products.

 

Key activities of Product Managers can include value-proposition development and effective customer communication of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) benefits, new product innovation pipeline oversight, brand management, promotional publications oversight, technical publications and industry regulatory compliance coordination,   identification and implementation oversight of cost reduction priorities, quarterly and annual sales/margin forecasting,  prototype and product demonstration support, market/competitor analysis/response, financial analysis, and basic operations project coordination. 

 

The Digital Solutions business unit is responsible for creating profitable growth through additional Saas unit subscriptions or additional features for the 3rd Eye platform. This role is an integral part of the team’s success by owning the management of a digital product line as well as managing broader initiatives that impact the overall 3rd Eye environment.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Sets and manages vision and roadmap for the 3rd Eye Safety Module line which will flow into the Business Intelligence Customized Reporting for the customer.
  • Works closely with engineering and experience design to ensure feature launches.
  • Participates in scums and development calls and meeting.
  • Works in an agile framework, writes user stories, drives grooming sessions and prioritizes backlog.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to launch new services, features and enhancements on time and within budget, with a lens for stellar and innovative customer experiences.
  • Gathers input to define product concepts. Justifies expenditures for products. Defines and analyzes markets. Evaluates technologies. Develops detailed product features and requirements, and develops implementation plans.
  • Participates in product modification, cost reduction, margin analysis, advertising and promotion, forecasting, product positioning, and pricing strategies.
  • Eventually responsible for accountable for profit and loss or budgetary management for assigned products.
  • Directs the product planning and scheduling process according to sales volume, inventory requirements and materials availability.
  • Establishes and implement policies and procedures needed to achieve goals.
  • Develops, mentors, and trains additional staff to ensure department work performance and objectives are met.
  • Manages, gathers, and analyzes competitive intelligence data for product lines.
  • Provides product support and documentation and develops product materials.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as Product Specialist, Product Manager/Engineer, Operations Manager, and/or Technical Sales/Service representative. 
  • Capital equipment industry experience is preferred:  Job shop or design-to-build production environment and/or waste equipment industry experience a plus. 
  • New product development process experience is a definite plus. 
  • Demonstrated track record of project management consisting of cross-functional teams. 
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. 
  • Experience and demonstrated ability with Microsoft Access and Project and/or CAD software are also a plus.
  • Candidate possesses strong analytical and technical abilities. 
  • Strong leadership and control of work processes from beginning to end is necessary.  The job demands fast, but carefully thought-out results. 
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks. 
  • Must be able to lead and influence change, cross functionally.
  • Must possess interpersonal and emotional intelligence (self-awareness of own personality traits and communications style with sensitivities to how own behaviors and style affects others in leading change and also must be able to adapt as needed to every situation).
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with senior internal and external customers as well as end-users of related products and services. 
  • The candidate must also demonstrate the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams as well as lead team projects.
  • Works under limited supervision.  Predominantly handles matters on own initiative, but communicates routinely with cross-functional teams, superiors and management.
