In this role you’ll be… part of a global, cross-disciplinary, agile team designing, implementing, validating, and maintaining mechanical subsystems for Markem-Imaje current and future printers.

You’ll have an opportunity to… work with talented engineers in a global environment, building complex products, from proof of concept to production, across a variety of printing technologies targeted to meet our customers’ needs and the strategic objectives of Markem-Imaje.

You should possess… at least a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related with preferred 5 years’ experience performing mechanical engineering and analysis on projects from concept through production launches.

Principal Activities / Duties / Responsibilities:

•Drive quality and efficiency within the Mechanical Engineering team by setting an outstanding example in terms of high-quality design collaboration with cross-functional teams in a global capacity (NORTH AMERICA & EUROPE)
•Perform and lead CAD design, engineering computers simulations, prototype builds and mechanical engineering related lab experiments in support of validation and reliability goals
•Can work as a team member on a multi-discipline team, or independently as required
•Bring a strong technical expertise during design reviews and problem-solving activities
•Deploy state of the art mechanical engineering development practices (such as advanced fabrication methods, material selection, rapid prototyping, reliability studies,
•FEA/CFD simulation, etc.)
•Follow and drive improvement of best practices and tools to improve team efficiency, effectiveness, and mechanical subsystem quality
•Use outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to execute efficient interfaces with third party engineering partners and suppliers.

 

Education and/or Experience of Candidate:

•Bachelor with 5 years experience or Masters’ degree in Mechanical Engineering
•Knowledge of marking and coding equipment is a plus, but not required
•Experience designing industrial products from concept through production is desired
•Experience in CAD design (Creo/Windchill preferred), FEA/CFD analysis, and thermal/flow/pneumatics/electro-mechanical testing is desired
•Experience with 3D manufacturing and precision part casting is a plus
•Experience with Microsoft Office including, word, outlook, excel, powerpoint
•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
