Are you a self-motivated, confident, and passionate Planning and Procurement Manager who understands that their team is integral to achieving our inventory turns target while at the same time achieving >98% on-time to customer request date?

 

In this role you’ll be… working as part of a the SC operations team and provide leadership, direction and best in class material planning and procurement processes and inventory control for regional manufacturing teams and logistics distribution centers.

 

You’ll have an opportunity to… work with the Regional Materials Manager, Business Unit Mangers and other department managers to ensure adherence to the Global stock policies and procedures; while meeting on-time delivery measurables and key performance indicators.

You should possess… a Batchelor Degree in a related field or 5 to 8 years equivalent experience in Material’s Management functions.

Principal Activities / Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Has directional responsibility for the material planning and procurement functions
  • Oversees the transition of product management forecasts into “achievable” material plans.
  • Provides training, evaluation and support to all planners and buyers to ensure process consistency, best in class planning and forecasting techniques, and appropriate execution of the MRP plan.
  • Supports the coordination and report preparation for the monthly Production Planning meetings with Marketing, Product Management, Materials and Manufacturing. Is proactive in identifying when and where plans fail to meet goals and objectives and institute actions designed to bring activities back into synchronization.
  • Evaluates expediting activities and recommends to Regional Inventory Planner appropriate corrective actions to planning parameters, thru safety stock, lead-time and lot size adjustments, forecast percentages, etc. to improve customer service metrics.

Education and/or Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field is required.
  • APICS Certification a plus.
  • 5+ years’ experience with ERP/MRP, Procurement, Planning and Scheduling with most recent in a leadership role
  • Knowledge of systems: including ERP/MRP, Kanban (both supplier and customer), and Vendor Managed Inventory (SAP preferred)
  • Lean training and Kaizen experience (Pull, Heijunka, Kanban)
  • People development (assessment of others, feedback/coaching, delegation, motivating others, performance management, and communication expectations)
  • Interpersonal skills (relations building, teamwork, interpersonal insight, conflict resolution, customer orientation).
  • Communication at all levels (verbal, written, listening)
  • Judgment and thinking, problem resolution, and decision making.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
