Job Title:                             Continuous Improvement Manager

This position provides leadership for a team of Continuous Improvement and Manufacturing Engineers to drive productivity improvements across the organization, manage the capital expenditure process, and influence leadership to create a culture of continuous improvement that will deliver savings to the annual operating plan.



  • Provide day to day leadership for Continuous Improvement team.
  • Manage the capital expenditure process to include project identification, justification and completion.
  • Align continuous improvement activities / projects with company vision and strategy.
  • Partner with operational and functional leadership to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Deliver on productivity targets as outlined in the annual operating plan.
  • Train both leadership and frontline employees on continuous improvement methodologies and tools to engage employees in daily, sustainable problem solving, establish consistent practices, and help drive a common culture and language around continuous improvement.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum seven years’ experience in continuous improvement, manufacturing engineering, Six Sigma, Lean, etc. in a manufacturing environment.


Desired Characteristics:

  • In-depth knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Lean principals including value stream mapping, problem solving, Kaizen Events, Gemba Walks, 6S, Andon and the DMAIC process.
  • Demonstrated understanding of project and business financials.
  • Critical evaluation of capital equipment needs, able to prepare business case and commission.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with employees at all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to evaluate and develop innovative and pragmatic solutions to manufacturing problems using advanced manufacturing principles and techniques.
  • Provide leadership in coordinating and supporting new product introduction, and line extensions.
  • Drives to root cause of failures using statistical methods (e.g. design of experiment, statistical process control) that may result in changes in design, tolerances, or processing methods.
  • Participation and leadership of projects involving cost savings related to manufacturing process improvement.
