Maintenance Supervisor




Summary: Department Leads coordinate the activities of Maintenance and employees by acting as a bridge between the associates and the Maintenance Supervisor.


Essential Responsibilities:          

  • Examine, test, maintain and repair plant machinery and equipment to assure safe and efficient operation
  • Ensure team members have required PPE, parts, tools, etc. to perform assigned tasks
  • Understand and communicate technical information through use of written, oral documentation
  • Set the example for safety, attendance, productivity, attitude, etc.
  • Assign tasks to meet daily production targets
  • Inspect, maintain and repair cooling and heating systems
  • Provide on-the-spot verbal coaching or correction and document as required, both good and bad
  • Keep manager informed of individual performance trends, both good and bad
  • Mediate conflict between team members
  • Repair and install pipes, fittings, fixtures and other plumbing duties as required
  • Ensure team members are trained to perform assigned tasks
  • Identify parts and part descriptions using work order information and identify proper tools needed to perform duties in respective areas
  • Manage spare part and consumable inventory
  • Complete audits and sign offs in respective areas
  • Ensure critical information is communicated at shift turnover
  • Operate forklifts and company vehicle as required
  • Assist with lean initiatives on the production floor and participate and/or lead continuous improvement events


Minimum Qualifications / Requirements:

  • High school diploma / GED
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment


Desired Characteristics

  • 2-year degree in industrial technology or 5 years’ experience related to industrial electrical, industrial welding or industrial plumbing preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership capability
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks in a complex, fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated strong communication and organizational skills
  • Basic understanding and experience with MS Office, to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint
