Position Summary


The software development Engineer designs, prototypes and develops various fueling retail solutions and their technical enablers as well as designs and implements automated tests at various levels of test pyramid as required. The engineer is expected to learn the business domain and what functional and non-functional requirements matter to make informed decisions about suitable software designs and testing strategies. The deliverables of the engineer will be high-quality, innovative and fully performing software in compliance with coding standards and technical design.

The engineer needs to be effectively collaborating with cross-functional distributed teams and so is expected to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse team members, be empathetic and consistently demonstrate growth mind. The successful candidate will be passionate about architecting and developing new solutions, working both with internal and external stakeholders and is enthusiastic about applying creative new ideas to the retail fueling domain problems.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop .NET/C# applications installed in embedded devices as well as services in the Azure PaaS
  • Integrate with IoT devices through various protocols, in particular MQTT
  • Implement all aspects of an application design – high-performance design, coding, caching mechanisms, security, encryption, state management, error logging, debugging, scalability, code reviews, development environment configuration, testing and infrastructure scripts.
  • Follow our SCRUM methodology of development including contributing in weekly standups and meeting weekly goals.
  • Contribute to the software test strategy by creation of test process artifact templates, test metric definition and industry standard report definition.
  • Identify and develop automated test at various levels: Unit, Integration, End to End System, Functional, Regression and sanity checks.
  • Set up and maintain test environments.
  • Proactively seek ways to incorporate new/creative ideas and methodologies into testing efforts by keeping abreast of current methodologies, technologies and tools.
  • Enable and train the test team members in expanding the Automation scripts
  • Expand the Framework to other Data Service Applications
  • Work closely with Solution Technical Lead, Architect, DevOps and QA Tech Lead


Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied IT or similar engineering domain
  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • Skilled Programmer who likes to build, automate and break other people’s code
  • Should have passion for testing, development and designing
  • Familiar with software source control, bug tracking, build process and the software development lifecycle
  • Should have knowledge about various test method & corresponding tools like MS Test, NUnit, TestNG, Selenium Webdriver etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter: Ability to work on a global team of experts
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem resolution skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing test automation frameworks and associated test scripts is a plus.
  • Applied skills on kafka, SignalR, Web API, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server (2012 and above) is a plus
  • Knowledge of VSTS, Git, Azure Devops and PowerShell is a plus
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and automated build servers, such as TeamCity or Jenkins, is a plus
