Production Technician

Summary

 

The production technician assembles and tests products and sub-assemblies per accepted safety, quality and productivity standards and protocols that he/she helps initiate and maintain along with the assistance of other production personnel. All of this is done to ultimately maximize our customer’s satisfaction level.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Assembles and tests electrical/electronic products and sub-assemblies per accepted safety, quality and productivity standards and protocols.
  • Records and submits productivity and quality metrics to the Team leader or Production Supervisor
  • Maintains his/her work area and tools in an orderly manner daily.
  • Plays a pivotal role in maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Observes all safety rules and provides suggestions to improve safety and wears proper PPE.
  • Completes all essential duties as well as the applicable paperwork and computer entries on a timely basis.

 

Performance Metrics

 

  • First pass yield.
  • Productivity: measure labor actuals vs. standards.
  • No quality errors; No installation discrepancies.
  • On time delivery of 100%.
  • Inventory accuracy +/- 1% within his/her work area.
  • No safety infractions.

Qualifications

 

Education:  High School education or equivalent.

Experience:  1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Basic understanding of circuit boards, schematic reading and electrical meter skills. Background working with AC/DC voltages.

Other:  Knowledge of MS Office and computer literate.

The noise level in the production warehouse environment is usually moderate.  There is normal exposure to physical risk in a production environment. The production warehouse is a fast-paced manufacturing environment where teamwork plays a pivotal role in the company’s success.
