CNC Programmer

General Function:     Develop CNC programs to operate all shop machine tools.  Provide technical support to manufacturing operations.  Recommend processes, fixtures, methods, tooling, and raw material to meet the needs of manufacturing.  Function as process lead and member of cross functional team establishing manufacturing methods.

Desired Skills:

• Ability to generate CNC Programs for machine tools using Esprit CAM Software.
• Ability to read and manually edit/create G-code programs for various CNC machines including Haas and Mazak.
• Experience with 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation using Autodesk Inventor software or similar.
• Create 3D assemblies and setup documentation of machining process layouts.
• Design of machining fixtures and jigs.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Excel.
• Build manufacturing process routings and structures within Belvac’s MRP software.
• Design of special materials such as castings or pre-machined blanks.
• Ability to recommend purchase or in-house manufacture of components based upon Belvac’s manufacturing capabilities.
• Provide process documentation such as work instructions, layouts & process drawings.
• Must have a thorough understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Ability to analyze manufacturing problems to determine root cause and recommend corrective action.
• Capable of resolving quality issue as it relates to manufacturing.
• Work as a self-directed team member with minimal daily supervision, following established safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to analyze manufacturing problems to determine root cause and recommend corrective action.

• Communicate with machinists and other Belvac personnel to achieve optimized processing thru set-up reduction and runtime improvement.
• Lean 6 Sigma / 5S

Experience:

• 10 years experience in a machine shop environment with both manual programming and CAM programming experience.
