General Function:    

 

Set-up and run Quality Parts usually for limited runs while analyzing and selecting tooling according to requirements of job.

 

Primary Responsibilities Labor Grade 2 Deburr B:

 

  • It is every BPM, Inc. Employee’s responsibility to be aware of and work with Belvac's current documented Quality Management System as it pertains to their job requirements
  • Part marks parts
  • Grinds metal parts to groove, bevel, round our straighten edges or remove excess stock from metal as specified by drawings, job orders or guidelines to remove defects such as cracks, holes, burrs using portable grinder, pedestal grinder, pencil grinder and hand files.
  • Position work piece manually
  • Guides tool along specified guidelines on edge or surface of work piece
  • Inspects work using rule, straight edge or template
  • Tends tumbling machine to smooth metal parts with specified amount of cleaning compound
  • Occasionally will use drill press to drill and tap and cut parts to specified length, provided machining process cannot
  • Follow established Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Use of fixtures
  • Must keep assigned machine(s) and work area cleaned and neat
  • Use of sandblaster.
  • All employees performing a work sequence on any work order are required to physically move and transact the material to the next sequence once their task has been completed.
  • All employees utilizing dispatch sheets shall run jobs in date sequence without exception, unless directed otherwise by cognizant Manager and/or Production Planners.
  • It is every employee’s responsibility to improve processes to reduce set-up and run-time standards.  This shall be a performance measure during all employee evaluations.

 

Primary Responsibilities Labor Grade 3 Deburr A:

 

  • Mixes glue with adhesive hardener
  • Use of band saw
  • Use of Key Seater
  • Glues rulon to parts using a specified procedure
  • Presses glued materials together using multiple clamps to bond material together and set glue
  • Performs limited assembly of pre-glued material
  • Trims excess rulon from cemented parts with a knife
  • Visually inspects completed work
  • Uses an over to bake materials to produce the desired parts
  • Drills, chamfers and taps holes as needed
  • Read blueprints to determine hole size and tap size.
  • Cleans inner surfaces of holes using reamer
  • Ream holes to size
  • Speeds and feeds for drill press
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machines and related equipment.

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Requires long periods of standing (up to 10 hours/day)
  • Must be able to operate overhead cranes
  • Although all production areas have overhead cranes, on occasion Manufacturing, Stockroom and Assembly employees may choose to lift items by hand for convenience.  It is the responsibility of all employee's to follow proper lifting techniques and seek help or utilize mechanical lifting aids as appropriate to avoid potential injury
  • Requires good eye, hand coordination
  • Requires use of hand tools, files, sanders and grinder

 

Education:     HS Diploma or Equivalent Certificate
