General Function:
Responsible for the overall coordination of the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) process to ensure alignment between Customer Demand, Leadtimes, Inventory Management and overall capacity requirements to achieve efficient operations and customer satisfaction.
Maintains master production plans for all global products to effectively level load resources and communicate available to promise production openings to Sales. Coordinates the scheduling of planning BOM’s, Engineering change orders, and release of production shop orders to ensure proper demand in represented in the ERP system.
Coordinates and maintains planning system parameters to meet business objectives such as planning horizons, lead times, lot sizes, safety stocks, etc.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain on-time delivery schedules for machine equipment, spare parts orders & kits.
- Understand MRP logic, manufacturing capabilities and limitations, to determine how capacities and lead times are calculated in the business enterprise system.
- Improve forecasting tools and procedures through application of innovative ideas and projects.
- Level load plant capacity to maximize efficiency and throughput.
- Ability to provide leadership across departments to achieve Manufacturing objectives.
- Capture and report on actual customer demand, trends and forecasts; conduct analysis of capacity problems, adjust capacity plans accordingly and/or advise on corrective action.
- Analyze and identify risks associated with the options built into the Master Production Plan, including manufacturing lead times
- Add events like capital work, maintenance, calibration into the long-term schedule
- Monitor capacity and initiate manufacturing outsourcing as needed while adhering to expense control
- Proactively review material supply and demand to determine push/pull actions
- Evaluate sales forecast and customer demand to schedule procurement of raw material, commercial items, and manufacturing work orders.
- Support and coordinate customer order dates for promise, confirmation, and delays.
- Responsible for Safety Stock/Forecast Program and adjustments to assure on time delivery.
- Responsible for planning and maintaining optimal stock levels and targeted inventory turns.
- Participation in and management of process improvements and projects on KPI’s and metrics.
- Excellent analysis, organization, time-management and computer skills are required.

Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Business or related field.
- APICS/CPIM certification desired.
- M.B.A. a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in Planning within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project preferred.
