General Function:
Primary function of the Technical Service Projects Manager is to provide direct project management support for all product kits that are developed, sold and shipped for field machine upgrades and conversions. This will be cradle to grave support. Secondarily, to project manage all approved machine refurbishments/rebuilds on an external and internal basis. This job will require limited domestic and international travel.
Primary Responsibilities:
- It is every BPM, Inc. Employee’s responsibility to be aware of and work with Belvac’s current documented Quality Management System as it pertains to their job requirements.
- Assist customers as needed by phone and e-mail regarding requests and/or information for machine upgrades, conversions or refurbishment.
- Support sales efforts in selling/specifying/pricing of upgrades, conversions or refurbishment to Belvac customers.
- Develop and conduct training courses for customers and Belvac service personnel on all product lines.
- Determine feasibility and market acceptance of new kits for upgrades and conversions.
- Work cross-functionally with appropriate departments for development of new kits
- Develop and implement timelines for service projects using appropriate project management tools
- Communicating and management of service project timelines and activities to all parties
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and departments to ensure all project timelines are being met
- Establish and conduct meetings and communication between all parties to provide status of project
- Working with all levels of the organization on a cross-functional basis to formulate corrective actions needed to address deficiencies/delays in project schedule
- Creation and/or validation of all necessary components and aspects for a respective kit/refurbishment, including; BOM confirmation, sub-assembly confirmation, flow of work confirmation, associative packaging confirmation, order of shipping/logistics confirmation, loose component confirmation, work instructions confirmation, internal labor support confirmation (when required) and other related confirmations for kit/refurbishment
- Develop Scope of Work for installation of respective kits/refurbishments
- Work with service management to provide necessary labor and expense quotes for installation of kits and scheduling for such installations
- Travel to customer site when necessary to oversee and coordinate installation of kits
- Spearheading and/or facilitating, in a constructive fashion, appropriate end of project de-brief sessions, when required to improve processes or activities
- Assist in the continuous process improvement of Belvac’s standard product line.
- Participate and support customer buy-off activities as needed.
- Identify opportunities for improvement through the Belvac quality system.
- Submit reports to the appropriate managers regarding significant occurrences and or trends/ transitions in the customer and/or equipment environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
2-year associate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering technology, or 8 years combined electrical/mechanical maintenance experience with capital equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Qualifications/ Experience:
- Must be familiar with Belvac Machinery Products – Primarily Neckers, Trimmers, and Bottom Rim Coaters.
- Familiarity with Decorators, Pin Ovens, Inside Bake Ovens and Washer is a plus
- Two (2) years minimum experience with PLC’s and 2-years hands-on experience with electrical assembly
- Knowledge of CE (European Safety Standards) and OSHA/NFPA is a plus
- Six years maintenance and troubleshooting experience with production machinery
- 2-years project management experience preferred
- Ability to obtain a valid US passport without travel restrictions
- Excellent technical written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient PC skills and in the use of Microsoft Office applications
