Overview
The CNC Machinist will operate multi-axis lathes in support of machining and other process which includes tasks such as loading and tending runs of parts, or performing one-step operations on individual parts.
Minimum Skill Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience operating a multi-axis CNC lathe which would include:
- Positioning and securing tools in holding device, machine tables, chuck, centers, and fixtures.
- Indexing turret and adjusting positions of tools at each station in relation to work piece to assure clearance between moving parts and machining of specified dimensions and tolerances
- Starting and observing machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
- Prior use of standard hand tools
- Prior use of standard pneumatic tools
- Prior use of standard inspection tools i.e. calipers, micrometers, drop gauges
- Prior experience in precision metal machining
- Prior experience in machining with tolerances of +/- .001
- Prior experience machining metals such as; stainless steel, ductile iron, Hastelloy
Essential Competences and Capabilities
- Ability to read/interpret blueprints, job orders, tooling instructions, and standard charts for such specifications as dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions.
- Perform housekeeping duties including 5S, coolant replacement, and TPM.
- Follow Quality Policy and Procedures in all aspects of daily duties and responsibilities.
- Ability to rotate into other positions within the team as required to meet production requirements.
- Actively participate in team meetings as required (safety, problem solving, etc.).
- Ability to problem-solves individually or as part of a group as job duties require.
- High School Diploma or equivalent

- Ability to lift 10-20 pounds frequently without assistance and up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance
- This position is performed in a manufacturing environment. May be exposed to:
- Loud operating machinery
- Wide temperature variations
- Exposure to chemicals, vapors and lubricants
