We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Director, Information Technology, reporting to the VSG Global CFO.  This key leadership position will be based in Madison, IN location.  This position will have dotted-line responsibility to the Dover VP of IT, aligning Dover’s global IT strategy to VSG’s global footprint.

 

Job Summary:

Responsible for developing and implementing the long-term strategy for Company business information technology infrastructure, including all systems, processes, applications, controls and security. This position is also responsible for creating the vision about how information, technology, communications, and back office automation will be used to further the businesses.  This is a “hands-on” leadership role, whereby the selected candidate is expected to be personally involved in the agile development and support of identified business solutions while ensuring global alignment to long-term VSG and Dover IT strategy and vision, in particular, at VSG’s operations in Madison, IN (greater Louisville, KY area).

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, vision, and management to the IT organization in a matrixed environment.
  • Define an IT applications strategy centered on the Oracle Cloud ERP platform and develop a strategic applications roadmap supporting the business needs and aligned with Dover’s overall direction.
  • Lead the business through Change Management and adoption of world-class processes in support of its recent Oracle Cloud ERP implementation (Madison, IN)
  • Influence others through collaboration and active communication.
  • Be an active member of the VSG Finance and IT leadership team.  Support the Dover Engineered Products segment with vision and strategy, partnering with Dover’s IT leadership team, representing the needs of VSG and Dover Engineered Products operating companies.
  • Coordinate IT resources to deliver key enterprise initiatives such as new HR systems, financial reporting/consolidation, and other IT-supported projects.
  • Design an IT support process, organization structure, and ongoing system management strategy that aligns with business strategy.
  • In partnership with Dover IT, work with supplier-partners (Oracle and other Dover partners) to understand evolving technology and recommend upgrades, enhancements, and new modules for the global systems environment.
  • Develop and implement the strategy for how information technology will be used to support and protect global business interests. Assess IT implications of the business strategy, identify opportunities to further meet business needs, and design solutions.
    • Work with Internal Audit and Corporate IT to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect systems and information.
    • Establish the systems and processes to ensure business continuity in the event of natural disasters, system failures, and other events which could disrupt businesses.
    • Ensure that the IT organization has the right talent with the necessary skills to deliver the IT strategy and service level expectations. Ensure that IT resources are optimally located to support a growing global organization.
    • Oversee the due diligence and integration of acquisitions, and the separation of divestitures.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or other related field; Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

Accomplished IT leader with eight to ten years of progressive experience in Information technology and a minimum of five years IT leadership/management experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Leadership in a business through an ERP implementation, preferably Oracle Cloud ERP, strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with strong leadership skills in a global, matrixed environment
  • Experience in a global business context with manufacturing, sales, engineering, marketing and finance
  • Strong IT and Applications background with a focus on ERP implementations and support
  • Strong Project and Supplier Management skills
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to drive and lead change collaboratively in a matrixed environment
  • Broad knowledge of information technology processing systems, concepts, and methodologies
  • General knowledge of IT infrastructure: LAN/WAN, Infrastructure Architecture, Firewalls, Security
  • General knowledge of Windows & Linux clients and server technologies, including virtualization
  • Highly service-oriented; reliable, responsible, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of clients and staff
  • Must be willing to travel up to  25%
    • One-week per month may be required to other VSG operational locations, in particular, during large system implementations.  Key locations include greater Portland, OR area and northern Italy (Bologna area).

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The incumbent has indirect supervisory responsibility for 3 regional IT Directors/Managers who have a total global IT staff of 20.

 

Certifications:

PMP, Lean / Six-Sigma certification a plus.

 

Physical Requirements:

Periodic on-call availability.

• Sitting for extended periods of time.

• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components.

• Occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings.

• Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.

 

Environment:

Exposure to disagreeable elements is limited.

 

Safety:
