Grade 9 Cell Coordinator East (2nd Shift)

Summary:

This position is accountable for contributing to VSG’s profitability by improving operator performance. This is done by displaying leadership qualities through his/her actions and words, by providing the necessary resources and support to operators as they are needed, and by facilitating the Safety Quality Delivery Cost (SQDC) performance improvement of the cells being served. This position works with employees within his/her areas of responsibility to assist operations in ensuring the proper fulfillment of customer orders and expectations.

 

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

 

  1. Follows and adheres to all safety policies, including maintaining a safe and organizes work area; PROMOTE SAFETY AS #1 PRIORITY
  2. Adheres to established standard work process and fully understands established quality standards to assure company quality guidelines.
  3. Provides work directon to operators within assigned cells
  4. Monitors production needs at all cells serviced to best prioritize materials to be provided; analyze and report on production detail reports as requested
  5. Ensures that all Kanban items and supply items requested are turned in to the appropriate areas
  6. Leads bi-weekly cycle counts upon direction of Supervisor 
  7. Serves as a point of solution for cell abnormalities and either resolves issues or calls in other support as needed (example: Synchrono, Maintanience)
  8. Must be able to use recent versions of Microsoft Office software.
  9. Establishs a lean vision for his/her processes, sets SQDC and 5S improvement goals, and takes the proper action to achieve these goals 
  10. Posts and monitors SQDC and 5S measurements to provide visual trend of progress against goals and objectives, and to identify opportunities for improvement 
  11. Conducts daily startup meetings to review SQDC & 5S performance; establish short and long term performance goals, review initiative status, present company issues, and create a winning, collaborative team spirit
  12. Must be able to lift 70 lbs intermittently & 50 pounds repeatedly – a minimum of 2 times per day.
